LONDON: restaurant help for dd 16th bday, quirky or stunning /classic old pub are the requirements please

Dd is turning 16, I would like to take her somewhere memorable.

I looked at ivy Asia and that's fully booked.

Circolo populare?

Depends on what your 16 year old likes? My little goth loved The Prospect of Whitby out in Wapping. Oldest pub on the Thames (allegedly) galllws on the foreshore, the pelican steps down to the shore and superb view of Canary Wharf :)

Budget?! City social is fabulous with amazing views and really good food and service but it’s £££££

Brunswick house? The building is owned by Lassco and acts as an architectural salvage display, so the room is amazing and has about fifty chandeliers and huge antique mirrors all around. Plus the food is amazing, one of my faves!

a sixteen year old would probably love Sketch.

To clarify, sketch is modern and quirky, not classic at all!

Re sketch : I went many many moons ago before she was born and I have already looked at the menu and it's eye watering £££.

Where are you coming from? Vauxhall is an easy walk, bus or tube ride from Waterloo or Victoria! Admittedly a little further from King's Cross way, but I would say worth it!

I second any Big Mama restaurants esp Circulo Populare

@Takoneko only glanced but the Japanese place looks v promising.
She really likes japanese culture and sushi etc (not fish).

Went to circolo populare recently and it was just awful.
Bad service and unfriendly staff.

When I got back I looked online and there are a lot of bad reviews.

Really cannot recommend it at all.

Will never go back as felt such a bad atmosphere there.
Shame as we were all so excited to go
