A very common meal that you've never cooked yourself?

It occurred to me today that as much as I love fish pie, I've never actually cooked one myself despite being a capable cook! I've always eaten it at restaurants/ had my mum make it for me when I was younger etc.

What's a common meal you like but have never cooked yourself?

Lasagna. Because it's a bit of a faff and you can get some pretty good ready meal lasagnas. Weirdly I don't mind making moussaka from scratch, which is more of a faff but I haven't found a ready made one that's any good.

Fish pie on the other hand I make loads

I've never cooked a Roast Beef Dinner or cooked a whole Chicken.
I love those meals when others cook them, I'll happily go to a carvery, but it seems a needless expense to cook those types of meals, especially these days when it's just me and DD

I've never cooked a roast! But that's because DH is the King of Roasts.

I can make a decent fish pie, so it balances :)

I've never cooked spam. Also never eaten it to my knowledge. I like corned beef so assume I would like it? I should give it a try really.

I’ve also never cooked fish pie. Or pesto pasta.

Dp loves spam. Fried with a fried egg and chips.

I view it with deep suspicion and have fish with the aforementioned chips when he does that. Once he had spam and I cooked myself a lobster. That was fun.

Never cooked fish pie as only I eat fish and there are some ok ready made ones.

Never roasted a joint bar a chicken, he does the other ones.

Lasagna, can't be arsed with it. All those layers, ugh. My dad is the wizard of lasagna so if I ever want one I just beg one from him, he's always happy to oblige if I'll send him a batch of Portuguese custard tarts in return.

I've never made anything in a deep fat fryer. They scare me!

Never cooked a roast as its only DD and myself and it seems like a faff.

I don't really eat fish and don't eat shellfish so only cooked that if its of the battered variety or tinned tuna.

I’ve never cooked proper fish & chips from scratch - only oven versions. In fact I’ve never done anything deep fried.

Anything with cabbage or cauliflower in, as they don't like me and the feeling is mutual.
