I have three wardrobes. One summer.. one winter and one Spring/autumn. But l go abroad a lot and for winter sun ..so use my summer clothes more.
We seem to get a mixed bag of weather in the UK now.
I wouldn't just now ( bit early).

ghislaine · 29/08/2023 09:25

Yes, I have! I dug out my autumn velvet skirt at the weekend and felt perfectly dressed for the weather.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 29/08/2023 09:25

Don't do it - the children are going back to school next week.

ReeseWitherfork · 29/08/2023 09:26

If you put them away then the sun will come out. So for the sake of the rest of us, yes do it!

I’m sure it’s just the curse of the 6 weeks holiday. Kids are back next week so we’ll no doubt get a bit of sunshine.

Moveoverdarlin · 29/08/2023 09:26

I’m hanging on for a bit. I’m hoping and praying September warms up, it’s just too soul destroying to think we haven’t really had a summer at all.

Fakeairpodsfakeoodie · 29/08/2023 09:27

Put them away. You having your summer clothes out is the reason there's no summer. Please put them in a suitcase at the back of the loft.
Then summer will come for the rest of us. 😂

Jamtartforme · 29/08/2023 09:27

Yes, I am. Even if September is sunny it’s unlikely to be hot enough for proper summer clothes, more t shirt and jeans type job. ☹️

BitOutOfPractice · 29/08/2023 09:28

I’m keeping mine for a bit longer <looks hopefully out at the drizzle> but layering up a bit.

LadyBird1973 · 29/08/2023 09:39

I think it's still warm out, even if grey and wet at times, so not ready for proper autumn clothes yet. And September is often sunny.

GrandHighPoohbah · 29/08/2023 09:40

I always wait until the end of September in the hope of a resurgence of sunshine.

Bluevelvetsofa · 29/08/2023 09:50

I bought two dresses and a skirt. They’re in the wardrobe, unworn. I don’t think they will be this year.

GLORIAGloriarse · 29/08/2023 09:54

I'm hanging on a bit, we often get a warm couple of weeks in Sept.

I've been doing some shopping for second hand/ vintage bargains on Ebay though and got some gorgeous autumnal outfits which I'm excited about!!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 29/08/2023 09:54

I've just pegged the washing out and it feels Autumnal!

Wizadora25 · 29/08/2023 09:55

I think we are due some nice days in September!

buzzlightyearsgloves · 29/08/2023 09:56

I'm keeping mine until the end of September as sometimes we have a few nice weeks once the kids go back to school

Lastchancechica · 29/08/2023 09:57

We live in a rural location and autumn is very much underway here. The leaves are golden.
Looking at the long range forecast the weather looks excellent next week. Right on cue! Sunny most days - 22/23c
I am layering and putting the summer wardrobe away on the 1st of October.

PangramAddict · 29/08/2023 09:58

I never change wardrobes until the clocks change - the sun is still strong when it comes out before then. If it ever does!

SchadenfreudeIstMeinMittelname · 29/08/2023 10:00

There is still time for an Indian summer. September and October are often the best time of the year.

DMCWelshcakes · 29/08/2023 10:01

Yes please! Clearly this will then trigger some nice weather.

BigButtons · 29/08/2023 10:23

Ha ha- at putting the summer clothes away to entice the sun out! That’s part of the reason they are still in the bedroom!
yes September can often be lovely, but probably not the 30 odd degrees we had in June that necessitated my proper hot weather clothes.

I got my cardigans and jumpers out from winter storage yesterday, it’s done nothing but rain and it’s cold enough I need the heating on. Fed up of the weather, my SAD has kicked in early this year too.

BarbieKew · 29/08/2023 10:31

I’ve washed all my summer clothes post-holiday but not put them away yet, could go either way!

Very glad that we went abroad this year and have decided that we’ll never book a long UK break as our main holiday again. I’d rather cut back on other things (like meals out) to ensure we get some proper sunshine for two weeks. This “summer” has been rubbish.

Augustus40 · 29/08/2023 10:31

I put mine away at the weekend.

hby9628 · 29/08/2023 10:32

I've put mine away. I can't believe how awful the august weather has been. Very disappointing

ssd · 29/08/2023 10:41

Im amazed people have different wardrobes. Ive a few things i just mix up all year round.
