It's bloody freezing today! We're away in Devon this week and it's supposed to be warmer when we come back and the kids go back to school. Just madness 🙄

catsaregodsindisguise · 29/08/2023 10:43

I was thinking about this too, I wondered if I will get another wear out of my shorts and few summer dresses. Sometimes we get some nice days in mid-September though so I think I'll wait until official autumn on the 21st.

EdithWeston · 29/08/2023 10:47

It's felt a bit autumnal here this morning - which is all kinds of wrong as it's still August (it's not just temperature/sun or cloud, it's a whole different "feel")

But yes, whenever schools go back, there's likely to be a warm and sunny week, because the weather Just Knows) so unless strapped for space I'd keep at least some summery clothes to hand for a little bit longer

TheFirstStraw · 29/08/2023 10:53

We had a fire yesterday. It was so nice to actually be warm as opposed to 'not too cold'.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 29/08/2023 11:01

Mine have gone away. Even if we have a bit of nice weather in September it's not likely to be sundress weather.

hexsnidgett · 29/08/2023 11:29

I am still wearing all mine, although thankfully the weather is slightly more comfortable this week.

JaneJeffer · 29/08/2023 15:54

I'm never buying summer clothes ever again

Summerslimtime · 29/08/2023 16:15

Mine have gone away, soon to be followed by the patio furniture. I've been really busy, then ill, so haven't sat on it once. How depressing.

BlueBlubbaWhale · 29/08/2023 16:16

Yes, yes you should as then we're bound to have a heatwave

madeinmanc · 29/08/2023 16:31

I was determined to wear a summery dress today, even though I had a cardigan on over it. I got rained on and was chilly all day 😐

Batalax · 29/08/2023 16:36

My furniture cushions have been put away. They never dried out properly as they usually do, and are looking a bit stained. I’m hoping to get them out again but doubtful.

Ascendant15 · 29/08/2023 16:44

Mine are only "staying out" because I am off to sunnier climes (which right now could possibly include Antarctica!) in two weeks. But yes, I haven't had to buy a single thing for my next holidays so far as I have so many unused summer clothes. Other years I haunt the summer sales for my winter holiday clothes!

I was out walking the dog this morning and thought "I need to get out my padded coat" - it's sodding August still!!!!!

DahliaMacNamara · 29/08/2023 16:50

Please do. I don't put summer clothes so much 'away' as 'to one side', but it might counteract my foolishness in setting up fans at strategic points around the house ready to be switched on to cool us all against excessive summer heat. Don't think I even got to check they were still working.

worriedinmyroom · 31/08/2023 18:07

Thanks for putting the clothes away OP. it looks like warmer temps are back next week.

Thanks for putting the clothes away OP. it looks like warmer temps are back next week.

They are in a box in my bedroom being looked at. Looks like they will get one last hurrah next week!😍
