I've never won and am pissed off with them, because they over-estimated our meter by 2,000 units! I sent in a reading and they reduced the monthly payment from £370 to £170 and a week later, told me I owe them £2,000 and my next bill will be...

..... £370!

I've always had 2 - 1 after I give each reading for gas and electricity

Can you input a manual reading from the smart meter to get the option to spin? It normally offers it after you submit a reading

Fab! I won £1 once. Then I had a 2 year low fix during the peak price period so guess I'm internally electronically blacklisted now for ever winning a penny more!

We most definitely do not want a smart meter - our personal choice - and I hate the way the Octopus website is set up to nag you every time you navigate from one place to another, forcing you to close a pop-up box 'informing' you that, surprise, surprise, they also offer smart meters, just in case you weren't aware...

I also find it very creepy and intrusive how their website somehow knows that my laptop is plugged in and tells me to unplug it when it thinks it's charged enough.

I've done all my spins for a couple of years and I've won £1 twice. Nice to hear someone won a bigger prize. Perhaps the £512 prize goes to someone who works for Octopus as a Christmas bonus?

If you go on site you can still enter readings in addition to the automatic one. You get one spin per month for each of gas and electricity

I don't know if it's a problem with my browser or something, but it always tries to tell me that I've already had all my free spins for the month after only one, then it takes a few random round-the-houses clicks before it computes that I do still have one left.

@dementedpixie I can't really be arsed, given I'll win naff all anyway! Plus I don't think there's the option to put in a reading if you have a smart meter. It appears I've been swizzed out of the monthly excitement of not winning.

Email them, from the bottom of your bill estimate email (I've always found this the quickest way to get help from them)
Even on holidays+ bank holidays.
I've had really good and quick fixes of problems that way x
