If your babies eyes were dark blue when they were born, what colour are they now?

I have hazel eyes, DH has dark brown eyes and our 10 week old still has dark blue eyes (that have a tiny bit of light brown in the centre but not sure when this appeared!).

I’m so curious as to whether her eyes will stay blue or turn hazel / brown, I feel like if they were to change, they would’ve done so by now?

DH mum has bright blue eyes and my grandfather had blue eyes so there’s blue eyes on both sides.

Both mine had dark blue eyes at birth. One has greeny-gold eyes now and the other has lighter blue/grey eyes. Tbh the colour was still changing when they were nearly 2!

My kids changed very late from blue to hazel. Their dad has blue eyes as does my mum, but all my kids now have hazel or brown (I have brown). Most babies have blue eyes to start with and chances are yours will be hazel if you are.

I had dark blue eyes. They’re now a light blue /green.

Mine had blue eyes which changed to hazel. Both me and their dad have hazel eyes though.

Two of mine have dark brown eyes, one hazel, and one amber. All dark blue at birth.

Brown

TropicalTrama · 28/08/2023 09:29

Hazel but they didn’t settle until she was 3.

Hummusanddipdip · 28/08/2023 09:31

Ds has blue eyes but they can look grey and green in different light. They started navy, went almost topaz brightness and settled on this bluey/grey.

Dh has bright blue eyes as do all his family. Mine are a weird hazelish colour (they have distinct rings of amber, grey, green and brown) my parents have grey and very dark brown eyes

Mine were deep blue until I went through puberty and started to turn a changeable green/grey/blue. I’m in my 50’s now and they have faded to a much paler version. My DD’s also had deep blue eyes. DD1’s are still deep, but more denim blue. DD2’s very bright blue with flecks of green.

My sons went dark brown by a month. I posted on here recently about my daughters, they were dark blue for months then went an olive green colour. In the past week or so they are definitely looking more dark brown. She is nearly 6 months old now.

I have dark brown, husband has light/medium brown eyes. Apparently I was born with navy eyes too.

DS had dark blue eyes until.he was about 9 months, then they started to change to hazel. When he was about 7 he insisted they were green, like Harry Potter, but they are definitely hazel!

PureAmazonian · 28/08/2023 09:38

My first daughters eyes were so dark blue they looked black. She had the most strikingly beautiful eyes. The midwife told me they would never stay that colour. She was wrong. Her eyes are still a very dark blue In natural light but insures they have a really dark slate grey appearance.

DD has the most beautiful green eyes that were blue when she was a baby. I have hazel eyes and DH has blue eyes. DS has brown eyes.

TenThousandSpoons · 28/08/2023 10:03

Both DC born with dark blue eyes now have hazel eyes, one more brown, one more green.

User5653218 · 28/08/2023 10:06

3 kids born with dark blue eyes.
One now has light blue eyes like me, one has brown eyes like his dad. One has grey/green/hazel eyes that seem to change colour to match his t-shirts. I honestly don't know what colour I'd say his eyes were. I also can't really remember when they settled down in colour. Much later than 10 weeks definitely

Aozora13 · 28/08/2023 10:09

One has blue-green eyes, one has grey and the littlest’s are still settling but noticeably lighter blue now. She’s 2.

Ginmonkeyagain · 28/08/2023 10:11

I was born with dark navy blue eyes. They turned a deep brown within six months and are still that colour forty years later

Jellycats4life · 28/08/2023 10:15

All babies are born with dark blue eyes, because that’s what eyes look like before melanin production starts. Both of mine had dark blue eyes that are now brown.

BlueRidgeMountain · 28/08/2023 10:15

DS1 had navy blue eyes, which started changing from about 2yo. Now they are green but weirdly look hazel when he’s angry!

SirVixofVixHall · 28/08/2023 10:18

Baby 1 - blue at birth, still blue at 6m, greenish blue at 12m, green by 24m.
Baby 2- dark blue at birth, dark hazel by a year.

HRTQueen · 28/08/2023 10:22

Ds had brown eyes they looked darker for the first few months

Jamontoast1 · 28/08/2023 10:30

Oooh looks like they are likely to be hazel then!
