Why are my boobs so swollen and big?

I'm 42, definitely peri-menopausal, fairly regular but short (3 day) periods. My boobs are deflated and saggy after children and weight loss, but they've gone massive now, they're so full it looks like I've had a boob job! Was worried initially that I may be pregnant, but it's highly unlikely. Have only had sex once since my last period and it was mostly with a condom and he didn't finish in me.

Can swollen boobs be a symptom of perimenopause? They've been swollen since 10 days after my period. Normally they just swell up like this about a week before my period and then deflate back down when my period is over. Period is due on 4th Sept.

I've not done one yet because I'm worried it will show as negative since it's still so early.

Further info as to why I'm hoping pregnancy is the unlikely option is I have endometriosis and only 1 functioning tube, I also have PCOS and had to go on drugs to concierge previously. I had sex at the tail end of my period. I've just checked and it was actually day 7

Only a pregnancy test can rule this out.
If you think it's too early to get one, try the hcg sticks it cannot show how long you're pregnant but can show if you're pregnant or not. So that you can move forward to investigate further

I'm not familiar with these. Can I just buy them at Boots or any pharmacy? If they're more accurate earlier on, why don't people use these instead of pregnancy tests?

Yes you can buy them at boots, Superdrug or any pharmacy. As far as I know HCG stick tests are very popular. I've always used it and the 2 times it said I was pregnant I really was despite the fact I did the test within 2 weeks after my period and it was very accurate

Similar here and got pregnant (2kids) without any problems

I'm assuming he came in you though? He didn't cum in me. He wore a condom, we switched things up and took it off so I could give oral. Then put it back in without a condom. He was in me without a condom for a min or two and then we put one back on.

Someone please tell me swollen boobs can be a peri-symptom!! 😩

I have never heard of swollen boobs as a peri symptom but I know that women quite often get a last hurrah as such and seem extra fertile at around 40ish, do a test.

Even if for a minute you have unprotected sex.

I'm peri and get swollen, hot and tender boobs before my period. They never bothered me before.

Yes of course I realise that. Obviously there is a chance which is why I'm worried about the chance I could be pregnant. I don't know for sure, but had always assumed the the sperm count in pre-cum is a lot less than in actual final cum

I had swollen sore boobs in peri…was terrified I was pregnant but I wasn’t. Hormones be crazy things. But yes please test.

You had sex on day 7 - so I don't think it's too early to test OP. If you are indeed pregnant it's because you ovulated earlier than expected. Is it close to 2 weeks since you had sex now? If so do the test, should be accurate.

I'm in peri and each month seems to bring a different joy symptomwise. This month, I had swollen painful boobs from ovulation until I came on.

But, as everyone has said, until you test, you just won't know.

Yes, it was very much planned pregnancy and surprisingly happened very easily. with my post I just wanted to flag that your medical issues do not rule out being pregnant.

Do pregnancy test.

For an early test, look at the sensitivity on the back. 10mIU/ml is what you want for it to be able to pick it up much earlier, usually about 6 days before your period. Most off the shelf are only 25mIU/ml.

The One Step bulk strips on eBay have never steered me wrong, personally. A few pounds for 20 or so, and they picked up a week before my period.

I happened yo me twice so far, big ,swollen aching boobs, couldn't even sleep on my front, both times lasted around a month and then it gone away, the last time they were very ichy too. Always shrank back to normal size. I am 40 , the last 4 years periods behaving weirdly, only 2 days long usually
