Does your 5yr old LOVE Lego? Mine does. She made a "Science Desk" this morning all on her own. She tinkers away in her room and comes up with all sorts of creative stuff. I definitely don't remember being this clever at her age.

Care to share what your 5yo's make too?!

Note: Single mum here, true lone parent with no help from DCs dad, doing it all on my own (it's fucking hard), so I'm a little bit proud 🥹

This might be totally normal for 5yr olds to make, I have no reference point!

How lovely.

MaryQueenofSocks · 23/08/2023 06:19

That's great!

She really has an eye for creating what she can visualise.

datinginmy40s · 23/08/2023 06:23

Love it and love all the colours! And how lucky she has such a wonderful, supportive mum who notices all the things she does! As a fellow single mother I can totally relate! You're doing an amazing job

Aw that’s great. Love her imagination!

GoodnightJude1 · 23/08/2023 06:40

Aw that’s wonderful OP!

My DD (24 now) used to take herself off and create all sorts of things. She’s now in her last year of her graphic design degree and already has a good business going!

Livebythecoast · 23/08/2023 06:49

Ah that's lovely OP and you should be proud! 😁

Ladysaurus · 23/08/2023 06:58

As a scientist I love her little Lego laboratory. A* for your DD.

bakewellbride · 23/08/2023 07:08

I showed my Lego mad 5 year old and he likes it. He also asked if he can buy it bless him.

Kittylickingplate · 23/08/2023 07:09

That is so cool!

UntidyFairy · 23/08/2023 07:10

There's a Lego Friends set which is a science lab (Olivia's Invention Workshop or something) - I don't know whether it's still being produced, but you could probably buy it online.

OP, that's lovely! My DS (9) loves Lego too, and has done for years - he's always going off to his room and then appearing with some new creation!

NeedTheSeaside · 23/08/2023 07:59

@user86654111

SuperSange · 23/08/2023 08:35

We've got a Lego and playmobil lab set up at work for display , and that would fit right in! It's so cute!

itchyhand · 23/08/2023 08:38

She's done a lovely job of it and you being so proud of her will stick with her forever.

You've made her a core memory on a dull drizzly morning, be proud of yourself too

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 23/08/2023 09:00

That's amazing! I've never seen Lego scientific glassware!

Terryscombover · 23/08/2023 09:01

Also a scientist and it's fabulous. Love free play with Lego. A** for your daughter.

ElephantGrey101 · 23/08/2023 09:06

It is lovely. I definitely could not have built something like that when I was 5. My 5 year old also loves Lego. I think children get a lot out of it like creatively and the ability to concentrate following instructions etc.

Mumski45 · 23/08/2023 09:24

That is lovely @user86654111. I love Lego and used to spend hours playing with DS 1 and 2.

This is an old photo from when DS1 was about 4 1/2. He may have had some help with the buzz lightyear spaceship but I think the little spaceships were his own work as I am OCD about keeping sets together.

That's lovely 😊
My Dd loves creating things too. She made a horse out of some cardboard boxes at 5.
I marvelled at her ingenuity too.
