Sara Sharif

Sara, aged 10, was found dead in the family home.

The police "want to speak" with Sara's father and his partner, who flew to Pakistan the day before Sara's body was found, and then phoned (don't know who) from there:

The call led officers to the house in Woking where they found the body of Sara who had sustained "multiple and extensive injuries", likely to have been caused over a sustained period of time.

Another child suffers at the hands of those who should care. I hope they get them back from Pakistan but I wonder what the chances of that are.

RIP, Sara.

@Gilmorehill

I'm talking about the "perp" a teacher question the abuser about a bruise and he took her out of shortly after....

Under no circumstances and in no school safe guarding are teachers supposed to start aksing questions of a possibile perpetrator of abuse.
. That's the police role.

Correct. Teachers don't question suspects as
it would tip a suspect off.

Yes they are! You have to do it every year. It's not an easy task, asking a child what happened without asking leading questions etc. The more training you do helps. Or you asked a more experienced colleague to do it.
Safeguarding is a huge issue in education.

If a child discloses something nasty, you don't question or look for more information. There is a child protection leader on the staff and he/she will set in motion the summoning of police, child protection, social Work.

SeniorMamma · 17/10/2024 19:35

This poor girl had no one look out for her. The more we hear the more horrendous it gets. That man is a monster, his wife and brother are monsters. The remaining children will be so traumatised. I don't want to blame the teachers and neighbours but am horrified that no one looked out for her.

Sunshinehappymum · 17/10/2024 22:38

Someone, government it charity organisations should help the mother to get the full custody of the other son and Sara’s brother. Many lives have been destroyed by these 3 horrible people!

LastNight1Dreamt1WentToManderleyAgain · 17/10/2024 23:14

The picture reminded me of the Madeleine McCann makeup pictures and I am feeling sick and horrified for both, all over again

How Very Very Sad so many Neighbours have said they hear her Cries and Never Reported it WHY Fear of the Race Card i expect ,
Surrey and Sussex Police have also let this Child down also the school when they pulled her out stating home education was this ever followed up by Education department ,
The House doesn't look like 5 children live there
Her Mother why would you Not visit and follow up where is her other child as understand there was another sibling still in Pakistan !
How many times did they Move Home I understand Lots of times did the SS keep a Log of transient Parents
Another Child Dies who was Known to services CARE System Needs a major over haul

SeniorMamma · 18/10/2024 16:09

“Sara acted coy and tried to hide them. Miss Simmons observed that Sara would often pull her hijab to hide her face if she did not want to speak or was being told off.”
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/oct/15/sara-sharif-injuries-court

Her evil stepmother told her own sister “Urfan is beating Sara up” “cos she’s being naughty” and her evil dad told the police he beat her up as "she was naughty".

I find these references to Sara being naughty very disturbing, especially coming from Sara's teacher. The poor girl was not only tortured at home but also repeatedly told off by her teachers at school, she probably didn't feel she could turn to anyone. How naughty can a child that is being tortured at home really act in school? Why was a victim of extreme domestic abuse repeatedly told off in school?

Sad Sad

Editing for clarity. I know the teachers didn't know for sure that there was something bad going on at home but they cannot have missed that Sara was a very unhappy and scared child especially with all the bruises. To say "she was coy often pull her hijab to hide her face if she did not want to speak or was being told off" sounds so uncaring.

@SeniorMamma I missed that line 😞 poor poor child

Octaviusoctober · 19/10/2024 07:18

@Sunshinehappymum thanks for this, it's called "an oddity".
. Those judges need pyscological profiling, there is something utterly perverse about this.
I guess most of them are men.

Is it Just Me Not finding any coverage of this trial last Update is 16th of October and No Pod cast of trail unlike any other trail

MrsWombat · 29/10/2024 10:06

There is a discussion on the Websleuth forum with various links to coverage and articles after the 16th? There is no court today or tomorrow.

Startyabastard · 29/10/2024 11:37

Bite marks? What a strange lot.

110% poor child how is this not followed up only thing i can put this down to is people fear reporting stuff as Race Card is Often played Personally I would have reported and take the Rath if I am wrong better to be wrong than this happens

karenR1662 · 29/10/2024 15:21

Human Bighting another is sign of very very disturbed Mind

MaitreKarlsson · 05/11/2024 17:49

Now its emerged they are going to be blaming each other in court. Despicable.

Can't understand how social services could close the case. Surely a red flag is when a child is removed from school after teachers raise concerns? Shouldn't that just be a standard revisit to the child?

www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/nov/05/sara-sharif-father-says-stepmother-was-the-true-villain-as-he-denies-murder

Weefreetiffany · 05/11/2024 18:59

So from what i understand from the trial coverage today, the first wife left him because of coercive behaviour and violence. Which he then flipped on her to get full custody. His defence now is that he was not violent at all but his second wife was violent and that resulted in sara’s death. Did i understand that correctly? Twice he has been accused of family based violence and twice blamed the woman and one time got away with that? Sara’s Mum denied all visits while child is slowly beaten to death by new partner and he stood by? Or the violent man carried on being violent and allowed others to also abuse his Child? A strategy to blame each other and confuse the jury so its not clear who it was and they both get off scott free?

MaitreKarlsson · 06/11/2024 15:13

It's ultra confusing. But he's clearly a loathsome individual who had no protective instincts for his own daughter at all. Scum.

therealduchess · 07/11/2024 16:49

I read that Sara herself said her mum was abusive to her and she was eventually sent back to her dad. The poor girl had no chance. Her teachers have described her as spirited and confident...not timid and afraid, as we might expect. I guess after being abused for so long, she was just surviving each awful day.
I wonder what the uncles defense is? Looks like the dad is pinning it on his wife. He hasn't got the guts to admit his involvement.

Octaviusoctober · 07/11/2024 17:02

@Weefreetiffany we can see thru this charade hopefully jurors will

Octaviusoctober · 07/11/2024 17:03

@therealduchess Sara was also told what to say by step mum etc so who knows what's real

rocketgal · 07/11/2024 17:21

How is the stepmum allowed to refuse to give dental impressions? Surely she can't refuse if they suspect that she might've been the perpetrator now the men have been ruled out

Isn't there a presumption in English law about not being forced to give evidence against yourself ?

Plus the ethics of a medical professional having to treat a person against their will.

However if the prosecution make an allegation that bite marks belong to <x> as part of their case, and it all stacks up then it's up to <x> to provide evidence to the contrary. Similar to men who refuse paternity tests ...

Octaviusoctober · 09/11/2024 18:04

The dad is making her out to be a liar, apparently she had other children and he said she tried to hit him.

So far he sounds ridiculous.

therealduchess · 10/11/2024 10:34

Even if it was purely the stepmother beating the kids, he has a duty of care as the father to protect them! So he'd still be culpable, wouldn't he?
I find it shocking that neighbours heard gut wrenching screams from children and heard "shockingly loud smacking noises" but still didn't report them! I find that so strange.
