Were you named after anyone?

I know a lot of people use names/middle names as a way of naming their child after someone special but did you or your parents have any strange inspiration when choosing names?
For example, I’m named after a character from my DM’s favourite tv show in the 80s.

Yes, I was named after that singer who keeps running up that hill!

No, but my cousin was (relative's name as a middle name). I wished I had been named in the same way. So much more meaningful than a filler middle name.

One of the Avengers 😂

I was very specifically not named after anyone. My mother's father, grandfather, brother and brother-in-law all shared a name. I have a very ordinary name for a woman my age but it was chosen to be mine, not uncommon with any family member.
DR is named after husbands grandfather, who was a lovely man who began life as the son of a steel worker and ended up a university professor with a PhD. D D was named after my favourite Jane Austen character.

My grans were both Isabella. My DM thought that was a very old fashioned name and so my middle name is Isabel. Oh how she laughs at how popular Isabella is.

My maternal grandmother and a host of other female relatives were all called Isabella, al born in 1890s, so it must have been popular then.By the time I was born it had died out and was just an old lady name, so my mother decided against using it for me despite family pressure. It is suddenly all over the place again!
I was eventually named after my paternal grandmother's baby sister who had died at a few months old. She would not let me have her own name but insisted I was given the name of the baby who would have been my great aunt.

It's my mums name and dads name together (sort of!)

I'm named after an actress from a soap who then went on to become a famous singer (late 80s).
I absolutely hate it.

When I was deciding on names for my children my mother would always chime in if she did or didn't like a certain name, to which she was always reminded that I hate mine, so she has no input.
