What cosmetic treatments and aesthetics do you have?

Ladies and Gents, talk to me about cosmetic treatments and aesthetics? What do you like to have done and why? What's the cost?

I've always considered myself a bog standard, normal female but growing up I've never really been into cosmetics and aesthetics, probably because my mum wasn't and I lived with lots of boys. I wear make up and like to look the best I can but would say I am great at applying it. I look pretty rough without make up but tough.

I've never had Botox, fillers, my lashes or brows done, I don't tan. I'd love to experiment. I just don't know where it start. I'm 32 now and could probably do with the little bit of help.

So please tell me about your routines x

I'm 28 and get baby Botox (less amount than others) it's free for me though through a family member.

I also get my hair dyed - ranged from £60 to £180 depending on the request and technique.

I have my nails done, gel Polish and manicure for about £25 every month or so.

And, I'm having Invisalign and no-prep veneers (they don't damage your natural teeth) for about £9,000 - but that's due to damage to my teeth caused by a cowboy dentist.

Exceptions permitted, excuse me for not spelling each one out - some women will do it just for self-harm reasons rather than to be attractive.
I have not once met a lesbian undergoing those treatments, and I have known a few. Nor a bisexual woman.
I have internalised love for women, you have misogyny and challenges with reading comprehension, along with racism, enablism and wokerism. Since you started on randomness. May be get another booster.

Well, you’ve just met one, and there are plenty more where I came from. I can think of another six at least, just in my circle. 😘

Please would you kindly spell out where I have been misogynistic, racist or ‘enablist’ (whatever you mean by that) in any way? Clearly I do have reading comprehension issues as I can’t find anywhere in my post that I have been anything of the sort.

I can’t see that you have any kind of ‘internalised love for women’ if you are accusing women who have any kind of cosmetic or aesthetic treatments that they want of having no self respect and suggesting that they are self-harming. Women who love women do not tear them down.

TheWayoftheLeaf · 20/08/2023 01:11

@Elephantsdontlikechocolate I'm bisexual and have had Botox. Also have a number of lesbian friends who have too. Weird idea that only straight women bother

I over plucked my brows in the 00's so I could probably benefit with them being done 😂

So many colleagues that I work with either younger or similar age to me have injectables. I'm not judging as they do look good.

Im not sure if I'm missing out or not. I'm not insecure as such. Im very average looking and thats fine but I'm worried that one day I'll look 50 and every other 50 year old will still look 30 😂

This won’t happen. The 50 year olds I know who have Botox etc look like 50 year olds who have had Botox, not 35 yr olds.

ProseccoandPizza · 20/08/2023 01:24

Highlights cut and blow dry every 12 weeks.
Classic lashes infilled every 2 weeks.
BIAB infills every 3 weeks.
Pedicure with gel toes every 4 weeks.
Brow tint and wax approx every 4 weeks.

Catsmere · 20/08/2023 03:42

A haircut every six weeks and Fudge Clean Blonde shampoo to kill the brassy tones in my grey hair. That's it. Haven't worn makeup in twenty years. Haven't had my hair coloured in five.

WandaWonder · 20/08/2023 03:50

None, late 40's

Well I wash, brush my hair, teeth and use deodorant if that counts

cheesecroissant · 20/08/2023 04:23

Botox every 6 months. Haircut and treatment every 3 months. Good skincare routine. Eyebrows waxed every 3 weeks. Eyelashes lifted and tinted every 6 weeks.

I keep my nails tidy and clean and sometimes polish them but I don't get them done.

floribunda18 · 20/08/2023 04:26

None, nearly 48.

I do plenty of exercise and have a good balanced diet, and try to get a good sleep (with occasional insomnia!) Have used a decent moisturiser since my teens. Moderation with alcohol and caffeine. Occasionally I have my nails done.

Gowlett · 20/08/2023 04:31

A new fringe!

Missingmyusername · 20/08/2023 04:34

45 - hairdresser two or three times a year.
Nails once a year- I detest sitting there. Always seems like a good idea at the time. I don’t know where people get the time from? I also don’t enjoy sitting around.
Liz Earle /Estee Lauder/Decleor skin care, I like potions! Spf 50. I really think a lot comes down to not drinking alcohol or smoking, lots of sleep, water, good diet and exercise.

RantyAnty · 20/08/2023 04:40

60s

Botox
Fillers
Breast augmentation about 15 years ago, but now want them removed
Skincare cleanser, peels, sunscreen
Korean towel exfoliating
Laser on legs
Hair color with I can be bothered with it
Lots of water
No drinking or smoking
Avoid the sun like a vampire

StoatofDisarray · 20/08/2023 04:43

I have a haircut every couple of months, that's it. I can't afford anything else.

rhino12345 · 20/08/2023 14:11

@Odingodof sorry - googled what?

ARealFake · 20/08/2023 17:01

41 and I have microbladed eyebrows, nails done every 4 weeks, highlighted hair with natural looking extensions (my own hair is incredibly fine and the extensions give me confidence), I've had lip filler in the past and would again but again natural looking not huge, I fake tan when I can be bothered and I used to get eyelash extensions but like to rub my eyes too much so stopped with them! I don't consider myself high maintenance, but do like to feel good, these things help me feel that way, as shallow as that may be. I'm a first time mum and my DD is 8 months old, whilst I do wear make up it's not daily - pre and post baby.

Soozikinzii · 20/08/2023 18:35

I'm 63 . I've had Hifu and ipl for face and jaw line .it kind of plumps up and makes you produce more collagen . Very small amount of lip fillers - 0.5 ml. Don't get nails or eyebrows done . Just have a mobile hairdressers.

RudsyFarmer · 20/08/2023 18:38

No way would I be fiddling about with things at 32. I’ve got nearly 20 years on you and it’s only starting to look ropey now. Save your money.

porridgeisbae · 20/08/2023 18:53

Cheek and nasalabial fillers but don't think they were worth the £900 as they've made very little difference for the price. Won't have again.

Subtle lip filler which I like.

Had botox on forehead a couple of times but thought it was expensive to permanently keep up, as I'm permanently unable to work. Just hide it with a fringe.

Am having electrolysis for hairy chin.

gravitytester · 20/08/2023 18:55

Botox every 4months- jaw and forehead (jaw because of bruxism, forehead because of a line like the Mariana Trench).

Filler- lasted 18months last time!) forehead only, because of said trench (Botox improves but doesn't get rid of, unfortunately)

Hair cut every 8 weeks, usually have colour every 3/4 visits (balayage type highlights so they don't look awful when they grow out)

Legs & under arms waxed every month (I'm allergic to hair removal cream and get rashes from shaving)

Nails every 3-4 weeks

Spray tan for anything fancy (last one was for a friend's wedding). I cannot self tan for the life of me 😅

ginghamstarfish · 20/08/2023 19:18

Nothing, other than good sunscreen and face cream, facial massage, and Dyeing my own brows in recent years.Yes I'd like to look younger, who doesn't, but can't imagine having any of the above, even paying someone to paint my nails seems bizarre to me. Each to their own though!

SirChenjins · 20/08/2023 19:22

Mid fifties here and nothing apart from a cut and colour every 6-8 weeks. I exercise, don’t smoke, drink rarely and try and keep the weight down - so what if I have some lines? Honestly doesn’t bother me. The women my age who have had fillers etc just look like middle aged women who have had fillers etc - not worse or better. There’s a definite look as you get older and it’s not for me.

ginslinger · 20/08/2023 19:25

I'm late 60's and have a pedicure every 6 weeks and have foils in my hair every six months and that's it apart from some tinted moisturiser

TootenCarMoon · 20/08/2023 20:01

Highlights a few times a year
I spend a lot on skincare but my skin is really sensitive so now I’ve found a great brand I’m sticking with it. I’m very tempted by the new Estée Lauder rescue serum though but it’s ££.
Have had eyebrows micro bladed in the past but wouldn’t do it again, I just use powder instead.
Had lip fillers for first time couple of weeks ago and went back for a top up on Friday, also had Botox while I was there for ‘11’ lines, corners of eyes and nose to mouth lines.
Considering Hollywood hot wax.
Oh I also have underarm Botox for sweating issues.

JamSandle · 20/08/2023 20:04

Nothing!

foolishone · 20/08/2023 20:11

Nails (builder in a bottle) 3 weekly.
Brows 4 weekly.
Hair a few times a year.
Maybe lash lift for special occasions.

I'd have more if I could afford it and would definitely have my hair done more.
