Is the mullet haircut now in fashion for boys?

We live in the SE and I've never seen a boy/teen with a mullet haircut. Recently visited family in the North and about 50% of the boys/teens seem to have mullets! I was really shocked. These boys were of the public school/Rugby playing variety so not sure if it's just a little bubble of mullets in that section of society or if it's becoming a general fashion?

I'm in Australia, they've been the height of fashion for a fair few years now in AFL states. I actually think the first one must have cropped up in 2019, so hopefully the end is nigh...

Yes curly mullets and moustaches, it's appalling. I've never been more happy that my husband wouldn't know fashion if it danced naked in front of him.

@Ozgirl75 i must admit I did cringe at ds coming downstairs this morning, he’s starting to get a moustache which he won’t shave and the combination is quite the look!

Up North here too. Most of the teenage boys I see have short at the sides and curls on top possibly permed. My teenage grandsons have this but with natural curls.

Bring back the 80,sall.he needs is some grey slip ons,White socks and shiny trousers and patterned shirt and he will.be all set for clubbing 80,s style!

My son is 21 and has really curly hair, he hated it for years and then it became fashionable. Some of his friends had perms! Another guy in his friendship group has a mullet,I think it's an horrendous hairstyle but he seems to like it.

@x2boys for the mums and dads. The new, original and improved (still shit as) mullet started back in 2019. No more larrikins, just class.

Here it started to be quite in from around the beginning of last year. My dd's boyfriend at the time came to stay for a bit, and had had his hair done for the occasion.

They don't call it a mullet though, for the life of me I can't remember what he called it. He was growing a tash too (badly) so it was quite an unfortunate look.

And then I just kept seeing it everywhere.

Now I know what a skullet is! 😱

@SM4713 I saw a teenage girl a few weeks back with what I assume to be a bright green skullet. The whole top of her head was shaved to what must’ve been a grade 2. She was quite gothic though so I assume it’s associated with that style.

White socks and sliders seems to be in too. Even my fashion unconscious husband takes exception to that!

Wait what? Are these updated ideas of a mullet or that actual type as in Scott Robinson? I haven't seen any round here.

My 21-year-old has one. I was vaguely alarmed at the prospect, but it looks really very good on him.
