Soo I’ve just had a call from our letting agent went to voicemail as I was on a call and my fucking husband hasn’t paid the rent for the last 2 months….

The bastard is at work and his phone has been switched off

I don’t have the money to pay it all - I did wonder why he had some extra money

We have separate accounts he pays rent etc I pay other bills it all works out fair

I am so bloody angry I daren’t phone the letting agent back and I’m off to check his emails 😡😡😡

I don’t know how long you’ve been/lived together, but it’s sounds like he’s in a financial pickle, and naively thought he could temporarily use rent to cover some other debt without ‘worrying’ you, as nobody would ‘forget’ to pay rent 2 months running. I guess you will have it out with him tonight, and if it turns out to be caused by poor money mismanagement you will need to take charge of his money to straighten things out, and if he won’t accept your help you’ll need to think about whether you can stay with someone you can’t trust. I had a similar issue a few years ago with my husband, gave him a bollicking for running up an unnecessary debt for a frivolous reason (stag weekend abroad!) then offered to take charge & he was eager to let me. I restricted his spending money to £30 per week cash, separated into envelopes each week every month he got paid. Within 6 months all his debts plus our car loan was paid off early, and he took back control of his money. I trust him now, as I know he’s learned his lesson & doesn’t want to be embarrassed like that again. Hope your issue is resolved satisfactorily.

I think that this is a bit of an overreaction for 2 months. We have no idea that it was intentional. It isn’t that he has been hiding letter from debt collectors for a year. I have forgotten to pay my service charge for months before. I just hadn’t realised.
my lodger moved out and paid my rent because she hadn’t cancelled her standing order. It happens. Before you know it 2 months have passed.

If it wasn’t intentional I’d be a bit pissed off but in know way full of rage like commenters her and in absolutely no way questioning the marriage :o
