When did calpol get a syringe?

Really random question, but does anyone remember when calpol started coming with a syringe rather than a spoon? I need to know because in my Harry Potter fan fiction I’m writing, I want to describe the syringe that the potions teacher is using to feed poisons and antidotes to his pet ferret as like the calpol syringe (so you know, for really important reasons!). Said character (muggle born so would have had calpol) was born in 2007, but doesn’t have any younger siblings she could remember having calpol if this makes her too old.

Yes! You had to buy a separate syringe for 50p in the chemist. That must be 2008 ish.

As I put ‘I think’ rather than ‘I know’ in my original post that implies some level of doubt.

Obviously wrong and disproved & now i know. Phew!

Nurofen had a syringe much earlier than calpol did...

Calpol wasn't an essential part of a child's diet when mine were babies.

2008 was a spoon I remember having to buy a syringe to give DD Calpol.
2017 when I had ds it come with a syringe.

100% did
I have a picture of giving it to my DD in 1998 -from a syringe

Maybe the GP prescribed a syringe with each bottle? You could get it on prescription.

The pharmacy might have supplied one to you but it wasn’t a specific calpol syringe.
I’ve been a pharmacist since 1997 and we give syringes to children under 2 instead of a spoon.

A child in 2007 would have had syringed medicine. Calpol itself was still from a spoon but nurofen was a syringe.
