I have ARFID so my diet is extremely limited anyway, but anyway here are some foods that I get people saying “how can you not like xxx”

I’ll start with

Pizza
Cake
Any cheese stronger than a cheddar

Will probably add to it as the thread goes on Grin

Bleurgh, it taste like fizzy vinegar and gives me heartburn.

You wouldn’t catch me even near them. Same to things like offal and black pudding

Ha, I love all those things!

BreatheAndFocus · 03/08/2023 17:36

Sticky Toffee Pudding. Hate it! I also hate any toffee-type ice cream. The heart sinks when I look at the dessert menu and all they have is variations of the above. Salted Caramel is the latest evil incarnation of it. Toffee and caramel desserts are all vile to me.

Amniceandgenuine · 03/08/2023 17:36

Pineapple ,celery and any coffee tasting cake .

Cake. I can't bear it and people seem to think I'm really rude when I decline cake at a party or the office.

Hey there soul sister! It's the texture for me. If it's a gooey squidgy brownie, or something more like a loaf then great. But everything else especially if it has cream is a big no from me.

Mooserp · 03/08/2023 17:37

Most of these I'm not shocked at, but chocolate, cake and bread!!! 😦

For me it is alcohol, tea, coffee, meat and fish. And bakewell tart

SouthCountryGirl · 03/08/2023 17:37

Chocolate ice cream / chocolate milk

ALongHardWinter · 03/08/2023 17:40

Sausages. I can't stand the taste of sausage meat.

MintJulia · 03/08/2023 17:41

Tea - it smells appalling.

And curry - over-spiced to stop you tasting whatever ingredients are hidden in the yellow gloop. And not a fresh veggie in sight. Yukk.

AdaColeman · 03/08/2023 17:41

Anything with coriander or more than a hint of chilli, so that's many Indian and
Mexican meals out!

ItsCalledAConversation · 03/08/2023 17:41

I have no allergies/ND etc and will generally eat anything and everything (eg if served as a meal at a friend’s house) but wouldn’t choose to eat:

Pizza
Margarine (anything that’s not butter)
Chocolate flavour things - cake/ice cream etc (but love actual chocolate)
Tabbouleh (just too much parsley for me)
Fish and chips (unless absolutely excellent top notch quality

ItsCalledAConversation · 03/08/2023 17:42

and raw celery yes yukkk

Yuasa · 03/08/2023 17:42

Mint. The herb itself, any sort of mint sweet and all mint flavourings.

Not so much a dislike as a full-on phobia.

HalloumiHo · 03/08/2023 17:43

Spaghetti,avocado,rice and mushrooms 🤢

DoubleBegonia · 03/08/2023 17:43

Any alcohol, I’ve never found an alcoholic drink I like the taste of.
Chocolate.
Ice cream.
Fizzy drinks.
Coffee.

BeverleyMacker · 03/08/2023 17:44

Chocolate cake or brownies 🤢🤢🤢

BridgetRandomfuck · 03/08/2023 17:45

Baked beans or any kind of tinned spaghetti.
Beer/lager
Raw tomatoes
Millionaires shortbread (way too sweet for me, and I have a sweet tooth! Shortbread unadulterated is delicious)
Eggs unless scrambled or an omelette

Anything else I can pretty much force down even if not a fan.

Theredfoxfliesatmidnight · 03/08/2023 17:46

Chicken burgers. Dry chicken in dry coating in dry bread. Burgers are supposed to be juicy which is why we make them with beef 😁

Iheartmysmart · 03/08/2023 16:51

Pasta! Can’t abide the texture of it. Nobody believes me when I tell them.

Omg I have found my people!

Bonfire23 · 03/08/2023 17:47

Steak

AffIt · 03/08/2023 17:48

I am the least fussy person I know when it comes to food, but I cannot ABIDE egg yolk, even though I like eggs.

A soft-boiled or poached egg, or a fried egg with a runny yolk makes me gag (although I take it elsewhere, I do have some manners).

I sometimes wish I could get over this, because the likes of Eggs Benedict looks delicious, but unfortunately I'm 44 now and I think that particular ship has sailed.

TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening · 03/08/2023 17:49

Rice pudding looks like maggots swimming in cum, and tastes worse, it's revolting.

FayCarew · 03/08/2023 17:51

@TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening , have you tasted both?

Ladyoftheknight · 03/08/2023 17:52

Beer, there's a woman in our circle of friends who's 'not like other girls' who loves beer and can't understand me hating it. It tastes like wet bread!

Any dishes with cumin in- chili, curries etc. It tastes like the smell of BO. Onions too.

Strong cheese for me too, i manage mild cheddar from supermarkets, mozzarella and soft cheese but nothing else. Strong cheese tastes like sick!

Weirdly, carrots too. I tasted a slightly off one once and have been put off since.

Soubriquet · 03/08/2023 17:52

I like a fried egg white but not the yolk. I tend to give the yolk to ds who loves em.

I don’t like chocolate flavoured things either so no hot chocolate, chocolate milk, chocolate ice cream etc but I do like ordinary milk chocolate. Not any of this caramel crap though.

Brownies and pastries come under cake for me so are included in the I don’t like them
