I have ARFID so my diet is extremely limited anyway, but anyway here are some foods that I get people saying “how can you not like xxx”

I’ll start with

Pizza
Cake
Any cheese stronger than a cheddar

Will probably add to it as the thread goes on Grin

Pizza
Pasta
Rice

EvenlyDetermined · 03/08/2023 16:53

Salted caramel
Nutella
Champagne

CarpeVitam · 03/08/2023 16:54

Baked beans (it's the texture 🤢)

TheGriffle · 03/08/2023 16:54

My 6 year old hates jam. Says it’s too sour! Which means by default, she also hates most birthday cakes that aren’t chocolate. The annoyance in her face when she opens her party bag to find a jam and cream sponge.

Sooze2023 · 03/08/2023 16:54

Poached eggs 🤮

Mrsjayy · 03/08/2023 16:56

Boiled potatoes I hate them nobody will convince me they are "delicious " I like any other potato.

TomatoSandwiches · 03/08/2023 16:56

Alcohol
Fruit juice, fresh & concentrated
Sausages
Minced Beef/Lamb/Turkey/Chicken
Thai food ( the coriander )
Pork pies
Jelly 🤢

Azaeleasinbloom · 03/08/2023 16:56

Tomato ketchup
chocolate chip anything
hot chocolate
haribo, sports mixture, wine gums - anything with that gummy texture

curve · 03/08/2023 16:57

Cheese - people are always horrified that I don't eat it in any form

CatRatSplat · 03/08/2023 16:57

Marshmallows in any form.

Pasta! Can’t abide the texture of it. Nobody believes me when I tell them.

Here is where my things get weird. I only like the long spaghetti type pasta, and even then it has to be plain. Cooked in salted water as normal but no sauce

And ARFID means avoidance and restricted food disorder.

Cheese, butter and coffee.

ShiteRider · 03/08/2023 16:57

Bacon, steak, chicken. Actually all meat

I’m the opposite…I like boiled potatoes but mashed potatoes make me gag. It’s the texture and butter.

I’ll only ever eat boiled potatoes, roast potatoes and jacket potatoes. Even then, my jacket potato has to be plain, no butter with cheese on the side so it doesn’t melt into the potato. I then pick up a forkful of potato, scoop up a bit of cheese and eat it that way.

Cake. I can't bear it and people seem to think I'm really rude when I decline cake at a party or the office.

DoesNotPlayWellWithIdiots · 03/08/2023 17:00

Salted caramel
Gin
Wine of any description

AlltheFs · 03/08/2023 17:00

Tea (although I can manage an occasional green tea when desperate for something hot)
Coffee
Hot Chocolate
Milk
Bananas. I couldn’t eat one for a million pounds. They taste absolutely hideous to me
Cooked Spinach - the texture makes me heave. Raw is lovely though in salads.
Blended soups - I love soup with bits in but the texture of a blended soup is just vile.
Custard - it’s like blended milk soup.

I’m genuinely not a fussy eater though!

BrookNoRivals · 03/08/2023 17:01

Trifle- so pretty before you serve it then just a bowl of slop, looks like someone's been sick.

ScottishIceCream · 03/08/2023 17:03

Carrot cake
Doughnuts
Tomato ketchup

IamAlso4eels · 03/08/2023 17:03

Cheese unless melted and even then only mild cheeses.

Cucumber, all cucumber tastes incredibly bitter to me.

Tomatoes, same as cucumber. I will eat them cooked into sauce though as that makes them less bitter.

Fish of all kinds.

Anything with a bone in it.

Pickles/gherkins.

Iceberg lettuce.

Chocolate orange/lemon (pretty much any chocolate/fruit combo).

Sausages and hot dogs.

Tea and coffee.

Sushi.

Boiled potatoes.

Ham.

ThreeRingCircus · 03/08/2023 17:03

Blended soups - I love soup with bits in but the texture of a blended soup is just vile.

I'm the complete opposite! A smooth, blended soup is lovely but soup with bits floating in it just reminds me of vomit.

Soubriquet · 03/08/2023 17:03

I can’t do bananas at all. The texture, the smell…Eugh. I was hard when my dc were toddlers to let them have bananas but I managed to cope. Just.

I had an endoscopy last week and they used a banana flavoured spray. It was extremely bitter but it was the banana flavour that had me gagging the most

Soubriquet · 03/08/2023 17:04

Yeah I won’t eat fish either
