All inclusive but with private pool, does this even exist?

Looking at Spain. Max 2.5 hr flight from Manchester for 2024.

We need a private pool but I don't want to do a villa as I cherish not worrying about cooking for once!

OP posts:

We tend to eat out for dinner when we have a villa - I try to book somewhere walking distance to restaurants

Lunch is low effort bits and bobs like bread cheese ham salad eggs. Or out if we are on a day trip.

Jesus christ - i just priced up the Ikos private bungalows with private pool and all inclusive - for 5 of us and its coming out at £55k for a week next august!!!!!! are people honestly paying this much for a weeks holiday?? I am assuming that is without flights too.
I took it done to 4 people and its still coming out at £22-35k!!! We could go travelling around the world for months for £55k and see a load of amazing stuff - not stuck in one place for a week.

I’ve stayed at the Gloria palace Ammadores in Gran Canaria several times
the ground floor has private pool rooms
the hotel is AI and really lovely
fab location on the cliff overlooking the sea

I went last year and pre Covid and I’ve booked again for September in a pool room

SiobahnRoy · 24/07/2023 16:18

We had swim up room at insotel in Mallorca a few years ago but prefer our own villa and eating out. Cost is comparable.

I suspect these super luxe villas are full of influencers/lower level celebs who will provide free publicity for the hotel. Or a few super rich who wouldn’t notice £55k.

If it’s with kids we stayed in a AI hotel on corfu right on the beach & loads to do
it had different sections and we were in a quite section which had 8 rooms with a shared pool - direct access from the room
so very quiet and rarely used

think we paid 2200 for a week May half term 2 adults & 1 child inc flights with Jet 2

According to what you see in every holiday ad, you and your family are the only guests at that resort/hotel/cruise ships etc.... would love to see them represent places accurately!

Crikeyalmighty · 24/07/2023 16:30

It is available OP but at the absolute top end of the market- think £2000 each in season- I've had a good look before at this. If the private pool is the most important thing - then I think getting a good villa that's convenient for meals out every night should be tops. - you can always just have stuff in for breakfast and beers and wine in fridge etc - All inclusive is rarely that cheap anyway- you are paying top whack unless you get a really good last minute cheapo.

Something like james villas is a better deal- around £1600 for villa for a week, plus flights and spending money (even eating out at lunch and night) is more likely to come in around £4K -

GlitteryFarts · 24/07/2023 16:30

Jet2 villas offer some all inclusive options. I very nearly booked a 2 bed for 5 of us at 3.5k for the week in Spain a few weeks ago, attached to a complex with private garden and pool. Garden backed onto the beach. Only reason I decided against it was that the seats had all been booked so we wouldn't be able to sit near each other and kids are too young to sit alone I would have been panicking! But its definitely an option on jet2. Whether it was priced low due to the availability of seats and being so last minute I don't know but it was coming up as similar prices to normal hotels.

Peachy2005 · 24/07/2023 16:41

Search for “swim-up pool Mallorca” or whatever destination you want. Should cost way less than private villas.

FatCatBum · 24/07/2023 16:42

Zafiro hotels in Majorca

Crikeyalmighty · 24/07/2023 16:49

@Peachy2005 I was going to link to that too as the Zafiro ones are really nice- I didn't though as OP said she was only looking for private pool and most swim ups whilst close tend to be a swim up to the main pool- I think?

kitsuneghost · 24/07/2023 16:51

All inclusive is a sensory nightmare
I am NT and find them too much

We have a son with ASD we went to the blue lagoon princess in halkidiki, have suite with private pool. Was absolutely perfect! We went last year and then again this year because it’s the only place that we have found that meets our whole families needs. Really recommend.

Peachy2005 · 24/07/2023 16:58

@Crikeyalmighty I agree those might not be the right ones for OP but we definitely stayed somewhere with swim-ups one year and never saw anyone in them, and they weren’t accessible to the general public (us!) and didn’t link to the main pool…of course I can’t remember where…but anyway there’s plenty out there even with just a quick search.

I was also slightly concerned that ND kids might not enjoy the typical AI buffet style dining…which would make that a bit of a waste, as a PP mentioned

Crikeyalmighty · 24/07/2023 17:05

@Peachy2005 yes I agree about AI too- the one you stayed in sounds good-!!

honeylulu · 24/07/2023 17:16

The tui holiday Village in Mallorca has swim up rooms. I think they are linked (3 or 4 rooms only, always looked very quiet, just one or two people at a time and they tended to stick to the bit just in front of their own terrace rather than swim up and down the length!) and don't join into the main pool. We were in a room above and used to gaze down jealously!

We've been to the Eden in Algarve someone mentioned but not one of the private pool villas - they are set back from the rest of the resort and must be quite peaceful. The whole resort is nice and the food lovely.

I'd strongly suggest though that you look at private SC apartments with pool. As long as walking distance from restaurants you can eat out every night and not cook. When we've done that we just got snacky stuff for breakfast and lunch. Tell your husband you are on holiday from anything food related and he can sort that bit!

Mirabai · 24/07/2023 17:47

You could find a small villa with a private pool and have a combination of cook + meals out.

Mid price cooks in Italy tend to be around 25 € pp for 2 courses and 30-40 € pp for 3. (20€ for under 10s).

FatCatatPaddingtonStation · 24/07/2023 17:55

We have this issue with ND children and not an Ikos budget! One IA worked - Jiva Beach hotel in Turkey booked via Love Holidays. We booked a standard family room and then emailed the hotel directly and paid a total of 200 for an upgrade to a family suite with swim up pool - large bedroom with sofas etc, twin bedroom, 2 bathrooms, patio and swim up room. The kids did enjoy the waterslide pool and the climbing wall. They don’t do mini discos or entertainment. We went for food at quiet times and it worked really well. Paid 2.5 I think for 10 days May half term but this was 2019 so probably gone up.

Other than that, we’ve self catered - but purchased pretty easy food and ensured we had a dishwasher! The villas in the Balearics and Greece tend to to be too pricey, we look at places like South West France, Spanish mainland etc. Currently lusting at Moraira in Spain that looks gorgeous with lovely villas loads cheaper than equivalents in Majorca. Always book via VRBO.

HurrahWuff · 24/07/2023 18:33

We had a private pool at a Holiday Village in Rhodes. Waste of money for us as the kids wanted to be where the action was!

ThexFallxIsxSkying · 24/07/2023 19:05

The Lindos Imperial in Rhodes has this....but is currently sorting itself after wildfires

MistyMorningMelons · 24/07/2023 19:10

People always recommend Ikos on here and I always drop dead at the price. Maybe folk go outside of school holidays, but I could never pay £25k+ for a week AI in Greece or Spain.

You might be better off looking at smaller hotels and dining out. I haven't stayed there, but have looked at Ona hotels a few times. They're all fairly small and have good reviews.

Ola Alanda Club Marbella offers a half board option (breakfast and dinner). A week in a 3 bed apartment in August next year is £3800 TOTAL for 4 people over 11 years, but they have a few different hotels available.
