Best bra for larger boobs

Morning all.
I need advice please...
I've gained weight due to steroids (been on them 3 years) but now off them - yay - however I can't seem to lose the sterry belly or the large boobs. The sterry belly which starts under my boobs would look so much better if my boobs were lifted up a few inches but when I adjust my bra straps I end up with under boob chafing or bare boob underhang... it ain't pretty, also its uncomfortable hoisting them up. I've tried decent all in one shape wear but I then end up with huge cups which do encompass them but a saggy shape -wear body. I need something firm but not so tight that I have bits of skin squeezing out around my underarms.
I tried some of the bras that have been on the Internet but they were no good. Probably be okay for larger women with no surrounding fat but back in the real world not so good.
Anyone in the same boat or cup! Has anyone found the holy grail of bras?...if so do please share..I'm sick of hoisting and rubbing and doing that upper body twisty dance all the time.

Can I join ? I’m fed up having these giant boobs down round my waist.

PretendUsername · 23/07/2023 12:50

Elomi Morgan and I learned to measure myself correctly using the Reddit forum called "A Bra That Fits". It's the first time I've had a bra that lifts and separates my ample cleavage instead of smushing it all into one blob. My back pain has eased a lot since getting a proper fit too.

Decent bras can feel stiff when you first try them on due to the way the material is treated. After a wash they feel much softer and it's worth persisting as you soon forget you're wearing them.

CornishTiger · 23/07/2023 12:54

Yes I came on go suggest Elomi Morgan.

Look at the difference between banded and bandless bras.

Get fit properly which means not in M+S and then look at Elomi.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 23/07/2023 13:18

Why not M&S?

My last few have been Sains - tried to get a couple of new ones on Fri and the wires push my tits under my pits. Shock Blush

I want them at the front, not tucked around the bloody side.

Suggestions anyone? hands around Cake as a thank you

I'd also recommend having a proper fitting done. I always go to John Lewis, after they've measured you they bring different bras to the changing room for you to try on, then adjust it so it sits right . Not the cheapest, but I always end up with a well fitting bra

Changingplace · 23/07/2023 13:31

Try Curvy Kate, I did their online bra fitting and theyre the best most well fitting bras I’ve ever had - she took me down a band size and up three cups which I thought was madness but was absolutely spot on.

Panache Envy. Fabulous bra. Get fitted at Bravissimo.

KenAdams · 23/07/2023 13:34

Freya Deco

CebelloRojo · 23/07/2023 13:35

Hi and get fitted at a proper bra shop - Bravissimo is good, Rigby and Peller also excellent. They will get you to try on a variety of bras to find out which ones work best for your body shape. What works well on one woman won’t work for another.

Flirtelle Fusion. Went to bravissimo for an up to date fitting now I'm post menopause and this bra fits beautifully and doesn't dig in anywhere.

Elomi Morgan or elomi cate

MrsLeonFarrell · 23/07/2023 13:40

It depends what shape you want. I recently switched to Molke bras. They are wire free and give good lift to my low bosom. But they do not give a Wonderbra, boobs under your chin, shape it's more natural. They also have a lot of coverage. I decided these things were worth it for the comfort of no wires

neilyoungismyhero · 23/07/2023 13:44

Thanks for suggestions so far ladies. Will have a look. I also checked how to size online and was surprised and sceptical at the result but as per pp maybe I should believe the result. Off to grapple now.

I recommend Fantasie or Elomi (they are actually the same company, but branded differently).
I go to an independent retailer just outside Bristol called Perfect Fit. Never had a bad bra or a bad fit from them.

Brafit · 23/07/2023 13:56

NC, Elomi Matilda and their plunge styles are best for me

Making the trip is life changing.

Back in the day before Bravissimo I travelled from Devon to London to go to Rigby and Peller.

Went in a 34B and went out a 30G. Never looked back.

Wow...yes I can travel of course. I'm in the middle so easy enough.

As an ex lingerie stylist I used to see so many ladies that were wearing wrong size bras. The band should be the same level at the from as it is at the back, the majority of support come from the band and not by tightening the shoulder straps. If you measure round your rib cage under your boobs, the general rule of thumb is to add 5”, however the larger the cup the less the number added. Prima Donna lingerie is amazing as the wires are triple wrapped, but they pricy. I’m a 32G, Pour Moi are good as are Panache, Elomi or Freya. Most makes fit differently so it is a case of try before you buy. If you want non-wired most brands now do they, and Panache do an excellent sports bra

Kally64 · 23/07/2023 14:09

Should say front not ‘from’ 🤦‍♀️

neilyoungismyhero · 24/07/2023 14:06

As I had no other choice today, I decided to give M & S a try for fitting/sizing. I'm not sure whether I've had an unnecessary paddy or not, I'm prepared to be flamed.
We went into the changing area and I removed my t-shirt. The Assistant looked and said 'oh you are wearing one of ours' . I said I thought I was a 36c but wanted a proper assessment. She got her tape measure, measured under my bust and said yes we'll go for 36. I mentioned that the strap from the top of the bra to my shoulder had a huge gap..she said that happened with age. She then told me I should adjust the straps - I said when I did that I ended up with under boob...she didn't get what I was saying. She said she wasn't sure about the cup size but what was I looking for comfort? Support? I said I was hoping for both.
She said she would pop out and get a selection of bras for me to try on. She eventually came back with half a dozen. I said to be honest I could have done all that myself so wasn't sure the fitting was really much help. She asked if she had upset me I said not at all but I was hoping for a little more, I don't know, knowledgeable input I suppose. I wasn't rude or uppity in any way and said I would just leave it then. I'm wondering now if I should have just tried a couple on but to be honest the first one she handed me didn't look as if it would support jack s..t.
Would I have had a similar experience elsewhere? I got the feeling from pps that it was a much more professional experience.

Yes! Couldn't remember the name. I got swimwear from here a few years ago. Bit pricier but worth it.
