I’ve just had breakfast which was a bowl of sheep’s yoghurt with home made low carb granola.

I’ve already had one coffee and am about to make my second. I plan on reading a bit before starting the next phase of my crochet project.

DH and MIL are already in the kitchen making a complex dish for lunch (they’re Italian) and DD is still in bed after a Barbenheimer extravaganza last night Grin

It will be a slow lazy day here.

Ds is shouting at playing FIFA on the Xbox on one sofa, dd is reading next to me on the other sofa. Dh is off to the DIY shop in a bit, when it opens, to get some pipe to repair a leak in the bathroom. In anticipation of the water being off for a few hours while he does it, I got up early to run the dishwasher and the washing machine. Sainsburys shop arriving soon., we will have breakfast shortly and then the dc and I are having a big de clutter of their clothes. Ragu will be going in the slow cooker once the shopping arrives and we'll have spaghetti bolognaise for dinner

Enko · 23/07/2023 08:51

Drinking tea and mn waiting for the supermarket delivery arriving. Dh is strolling the news on his pc half stroking s dog who walked off in disgust as I was not petting him enough. (He has dh better trained clearly) dd3 (age 19) is still asleep and ds (21) and his girlfriend I can hear stirring upstairs but they have not yet come downstairs. D dog has already been in to "check" on them.. later I will collect dd2 from her weekend away and then summer with the 3 of them has officially started.

LMNT · 23/07/2023 08:57

@Girasoli they’re making culurgiones 😁 Mamma is from Tertenia. I can’t wait!

Woke up about half 6, so crept downstairs to watch some of my TV before the rest of the house woke up. Cat joined me.

Then took a cuppa back to bed & read my book for a bit. Now the whole house is up & we're having coffee & croissants.

Ds1 & 2 off to Scout Camp for the week in a few hours, so need to finish packing them. DS3 has a party then staying round my parents. DH & I are escaping overnight for our anniversary. Third attempt this year, first one cancelled due to medical issues with DS2 & the second time DH was ill while we were away, so trying not to expect too much 😏

ThatshallotBaby · 23/07/2023 09:02

What lovely days. I’m on my second cup of tea, scrolling on the sofa. I’ve fed the cats, and one is rolling around on the rug, not cuddling me!!
Everybody else still asleep. Roast later, and I need to get the hoover out. Might ask my sister if she fancies going to the garden centre.
@KStockHERO could I ask you what book you are reading please? I’m reading Gaiety by Kate Atkinson, and am already dreading when I finish it!

AutumnCrow · 23/07/2023 09:03

Next door have just started banging and crashing against my bedroom wall. Oh well, at least they waited till 9am, bless them. If screaming starts, I’ll know they’re assembling an IKEA wardrobe.

hohumpigsbum · 23/07/2023 09:08

I've got one child with a stomach bug laid up on the sofa with some toast. The others are watching High School Musical in the playroom while I make pop tarts.
DH and I have some chores to do this morning and then we're going to have an afternoon watching Star Wars with snacks- DC have never seen it so they're very excited.
Looking forward to a nice lazy day.

PlaceYourHands · 23/07/2023 09:11

I'm having a lie in. DH and DS downstairs making cards for the teachers/TAs before park run. Then we're heading into the next town on a double decker for a food & drink festival and hope the rain stays away!

Iamnotaloggrip · 23/07/2023 09:12

Kids are at their grandparents, I’m in my armchair scrolling and thinking about going to buy a paper. Should do some cleaning and will also do a Pilates class but very little else today.

alloalloallo · 23/07/2023 09:14

I’m laying on the couch mooching on here with coffee

DD2 has gone to do her pony, DH and DD1 are still in bed - DD1 was at work until 2am this morning.

It’s pissing down here again but it is forecast to brighten up in a couple of hours so gardening this afternoon.

Anothernamethesamegame · 23/07/2023 09:16

Son is on laptop coding, daughter is watching GIF awful YouTube videos and I’m having a coffee reading the news (and on here). Contemplating a trip to the library with the kids, but before that I want to do a run.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 23/07/2023 09:20

DH is away for the weekend playing with "little orc men" so I've done the washing and am having a doom scroll before church.
DD (7 months) is sitting on the floor eating a hair brush with no interest in actual toys 😂
I need to wash bottles up and clean kitchen before I go out, but I'm relishing it only being me making mess on a Sunday (usually DH does himself a fry up and leaves the kitchen a state!)

GingerLiberalFeminist · 23/07/2023 09:22

Oh the rest of the day DD and I are going for a walk to deliver some leaflets after church then Sunday dinner with PIL.
Tonight I'll put DD down then set the robot hoover off and watch some Montalbano before DH arrives after 10pm.
Basically a lovely day!

RabbitsRock · 23/07/2023 09:23

Love these threads. Got up earlier to make DH a cuppa & came back to bed so we’re both scrolling. The forecast wasn’t brilliant but it’s sunny at the mo ☀️😎 No work for either of us today ( I do alternate Sats/Suns). DD14 has been away for a couple of days. It’s like walking on eggshells with her at the moment. I shouldn’t say it but it was lovely to have a break! She’s just gone out for one of her regular walks. I need to do a food shop, not massive, and my meals list for the coming week is already written. Steak, chips, peas & breaded garlic mushrooms for tea. No plans apart from the shop but if it stays fine, might pop down to the harbour village near us. It’s so pretty & there’s usually something going on.

Giggorata · 23/07/2023 09:23

Drinking tea and waiting for the antihistamines to kick in. A-choo.
Then I'm going to potter about until we go out for lunch.
Later I am preparing some pictures to hang in the hall and sorting out some handbags and clothes for the charity shop.
DH is on on of those sites where you find your relations and plans to do something or other with that later.
Then I’ll probably read as it's still raining and raining, and I have three books on the go and it's still raining.

smilesup · 23/07/2023 09:24

I'm off playing football, DH is reading the paper, DD is reading a book, DS2 is off bowling with friends (early!) and DS1 is off to work at his weekend job.

mumlovesvodka · 23/07/2023 09:29

Both DS still in bed

I've been up for hours,2 cups of tea, a dog walk, a load of washing on the line and friend egg sandwiches for me and DH.

Caring duties for DH's step dad this morning, then a v quiet afternoon (once we've yelled Lewis on to a win of course)

UndercoverCop · 23/07/2023 09:31

DS not back from grandparents until later, both currently drinking coffee in bed, off to the gym in about half an hour

MeinKraft · 23/07/2023 09:34

Lying on the sofa while the children trash the house around me. Really need to clean the kitchen but tired 🥱

SallyWD · 23/07/2023 09:39

I'm recovering from a gig so still in bed. Aching legs from all the dancing! DH is getting up. Daughter's having breakfast and sons gaming. Going to have a lazy day.

CrackersCheeseAndWinePlease · 23/07/2023 09:42

Eldest dd is at work, dd 15 is in her room on FaceTime to her best friend and dd7 is colouring.
I've just had breakfast whilst mumsnetting. Need to do some housework today, it's chucking it down so bit of a lazy day planned

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 23/07/2023 09:42

I love these threads thanks OP
@hohumpigsbum hope your DC feels better soon.

@mumlovesvodka I’m with you on that, come on Lewis!
@MeinKraft can the kitchen wait another day? Be kind to yourself and have a chill day. If possible maybe catch up on some sleep?

Ineedwinenow · 23/07/2023 09:46

Currently in bed with a fresh coffee and pastries and then it’s a day of reading Jack Reacher, I’ve had his latest book months but been too busy to read it, so as it’s pissing it down it’s a day for me and Jack!

Hubby is currently downstairs making pizza dough for dinner later, all in all it’s a very lazy day and I’m really happy about that oh Ddog refuses point blank to step outside as it’s raining so no walkies either! Will try later if it clears up

Tarkan · 23/07/2023 09:47

I've been up since 8, DC1 started work at 7, DC2 (15) had a bad anxiety attack last night so they stayed up quite late and are still in bed right now. DH was working until after 1am and is currently sleeping on the sofa because DC2 was in my room with me last night.

I haven't eaten anything yet as I can't eat when I've just woken up so I'm about to go get some breakfast now but I'm watching the Netherlands v Portugal match and I bet I'll miss something as soon as I go into the kitchen.

gogomoto · 23/07/2023 09:51

Late to the thread on account of only just being awake enough to focus my eyes (that's middle age for you) dp is catching up on motor racing of some kind from yesterday on you tube (not sure how many wheels) and dsd is asleep as normal, I've just brought tea up, going to be a lazy day. The other kids are elsewhere (at boyfriend's, away at work (military) and eldest doesn't live here, if they are all here (plus 2-3 boyfriends sometimes) it's manic
