Given in and put my thermals on!
It was either that or put the heating on, which is surely a step too far in mid summer?

Top of Hampshire. It's chilly & raining. I'm warm enough in leggings, socks, heavy t shirt. Still got windows open.

there's no way I'd be putting the heating on anywhere in the U.K. though, layers & warm socks.

I'm technically East Mids but near Sheffield. Yes, it's wet and miserable but not cold sometimes it feels too warm. Weird.

Clueless1982 · 22/07/2023 21:07

Leicestershire here and currently wrapped in my dressing gown - we were camping in Cornwall last week and the weather was dreadful there too, think we've bought it back (sorry!)

Glemanam · 22/07/2023 21:10

Derbyshire here, sat under blankets ffs watching Netflix!! Feels like April/ October not July!

Glemanam · 22/07/2023 21:11

But absolutely no way is the heating going on!!!

GarlicGrace · 22/07/2023 21:15

Autumnal in Urrfrdshrr, too. I've got the windows open and am all wrapped up, but my hands are cold! I'm using the electric blanket and the thick duvet.

I'm in Staffs.
I caved and put the heating on 🤣

Doyouthinktheyknow · 22/07/2023 21:20

We are just back from a holiday let in Whitby. The heating came on of its own accord yesterday morning! It was cool but we did have the patio door open and I was sat outside overlooking the river in my thermal socks and under the blanket I’m crocheting😎

We drove back to the south coast today and in the rain, the outdoor temp was 13c. That’s chilly for July!

70sTomboy · 22/07/2023 21:27

South Coast here, got home from holiday, and found the heating had kicked in. It is on the thermostat.
It's pissing down, and even the dog isn't interested in going out. I've put lamps on, and it's cosy.
It's supposed to be better tomorrow.

Bristol, got balcony door open as a bit stuffy, not cold

MrsR87 · 22/07/2023 21:45

We’re in the East Midlands too, in a new build. We currently have the back door open!

Chilly for July yesterday in Northumberland and I wore a tee shirt, a jumper and a fleece with long trousers. I added a coat and hat when I walked the dog! Rained all day and the forecast is for the same today. It was about 15 degrees outside, 16sh indoors. I kept busy to keep warm, changing bedding, hoovering, cleaning. It feels warmer when you move about!!

The gardens are looking lovely and green though and we've just sown some grass seed so the rain should help that. Unfortunately the rain has encouraged lots of weeds but it's too wet to get out in the garden to dig them up.
