Adults only holiday next week within 5 hours flight?

JetStreamComeBack · 22/07/2023 12:52

It’s school holidays, but have the chance at an adults only holiday next week. Up to 7 days, thinking within 5 hours flight time. Needs to be somewhere the sea is warmer than here. Preferable adults only or somewhere that kids aren’t going to be running around. Not been abroad for decades it seems and oit of practice.
Bonus points of you can fly with an airline with premium or business class seats, but I don’t know of that’s going to make the budget go crazy!
Thinking all inclusive or half board. Never done that before always been self catering for cost.

Egypt - ok a bit more than 5 hours, but go 5 star. As others have said filter on Adults only although be aware that they include hotels that have adult only areas.

Stella Island in Crete plus BA business class flight should tick your boxes. It's Uber luxurious, adult only, all inclusive and 4 hours away.

No availability for July for Stella island, must be good!

Don't go tui hotel AI - buffets are poor in my experience and you have to book on the day for 'speciality' restaurants and it turns into a bun fight.

If looking in Tui look for over 80% trip advisor and non tui hotels so not sensatori or Tui Blu - their stars are at least 1 up from reality.

Ginger1982 · 22/07/2023 22:45

Could you try an Ikos hotel somewhere?

That really does not sound what I’m looking for. It did say you had to book before midday. Would you be better in that case just having a room with breakfast and eating out locally? I don’t want a shit Buffett for a week. Not fussed on the drinks either as can’t drink!

I would highly recommend Sani resort. The dine around is fab because you can eat at different restaurants every day, and the service was excellent.

Will have a google, I’m completely clueless.

IKOS and Sani are both gorgeous but totally family oriented and teaming with kids.

ohsohopeful · 22/07/2023 22:53

Have a look at The Residence at TUI BLUE. It's Adults Only, a la carte table service for every meal and you can use the hotel next door too. We absolutely loved it and have been twice.

Does this mean just men, women can’t wear sandals to the restaurant with a skirt/dress? Told you I was clueless!

  • Restaurant dress code
  • Shorts must be tailored and shoes must be closed when dining at the Food Repertory, Cuphea and Asmani restaurants.

Yes I’d understand that as basically no sandals / flip flops - shoes must cover the toes I’d have thought rather than completely closed (ie covering the foot completely).

cherryassam · 22/07/2023 23:16

although I’d be surprised if they were actually stopping women wearing nice sandals - I would interpret it more as not wanting flip flops / casual sandals

That’s what I would wear, smart flat sandals I would wear to a wedding. Surely that’s smarter on me than slip on clumpy shoes!

I also recommend TUI, they looked after us well when things didn't go to plan which is a good thing in a tour operator. Another option might be a cruise, Marella explorer 2 is adults only (also TUI) at short notice you can get amazing deals

gogomoto · 22/07/2023 23:21

We did TUI and had 4 restaurants in addition to the main buffet, plus another you paid extra for. 4 star places vary a lot so look for the platinum ones and read reviews carefully

cherryassam · 22/07/2023 23:23

I’d be tempted to look at British Airways Holidays and go for premium economy or business / club flights
