On schooldays (I do all school uniform/lunches etc the night before):
Wake up at 6.50. DH brings me a nice strong black coffee🙂
7.10 get up, showered.
Make porridge for DS15, DH makes egg-in-a-nest for DS13.
7.45 school run: drop off DS15 and DN15 into town at 8.15 so they can walk up with friends, then drop DS13 to school in next town.
9.20 home and coffee with DH then we walk the dog.
10.30 or so we get into the gardening usually.

Catsmere · 22/07/2023 01:32

Waked up around dawn (no fun in summer, bloody daylight saving). Maybe trawl the net for a while. 7am give DCat2 her morning pill. Get up no later than 8.30, take my pills, dress, make bed, wash, scoop the litter, feed the starving cats, have breakfast. If I've got up early enough, get laundry on (communal laundry, get in early or wait until night) a couple of times a week. After breakfast go and get my mother up and dressed, then when she's done her bathroom stuff bring her to my unit (adjoining) for her medication and breakfast. Then I can slope off to lie on the bed with the kitties and go back to internetting or maybe knitting.

Catsmere · 22/07/2023 01:33

Wake, not waked, ffs!

EarringsandLipstick · 22/07/2023 02:02

Weekdays:
510 wake, procrastinate about getting up
525 up, teeth, face, gym clothes
545 leave for training session
710 home
715 (ideally) into house, ensure 3 DC up, madly organise lunches, breakfasts & do assorted chores + getting self showered & dressed ...[reality, scroll on phone in car fog 10 minutes then panic throw self in house to do all the above]
830 - 9 leave for work if on-site, exact time depending on meetings / school drop
Or 9 - 930 start wfh

6am Wake up without alarm. Husband makes coffee, we drink coffee in bed, read on our phones

6.30am Baby wakes up

6.30-7.30am We all chill in bed

7.30am Baby gets breakfast and outfit/nappy change

Day begins with chores or playtime

FridaRose · 22/07/2023 03:18

Feel a bit shit that I have no 'off' days.
Look forward to going back to work so husband can do 3-4 mornings with the baby.

I hear you. I have no "off" days either.

ThisIsACoolUserName · 22/07/2023 03:58

I like a leisurely morning, so even on a wfh day I set the alarm for 6.15am. Shower, sit in bed to do my makeup, dry hair, get dressed. Go downstairs at about 7am, make a coffee and have breakfast , sit at the kitchen table and stare into space or admire the garden in nice weather, and scroll the news and Mumsnet on my phone. Then I do some useful stuff from about 7.45-9am, which might be either chores or I might cook dinner for the next 2 nights. I've also been known to use the time to do some painting and decorating - or whatever home maintenance jobs need doing.

On an office day, I get up at 6am, get ready, eat breakfast and have a coffee, walk the dog at 7.20am, drop her home and grab my bag, and leave for work at 7.55am (I get a train).

IncompleteSenten · 22/07/2023 04:12

Mine varies. Half the time it's
3am wake up needing the loo. Lay there for half an hour too knackered to get up, too uncomfortable to sleep.

330am give in and go to loo. Come back, get back into bed wide awake, get my phone and start browsing Mumsnet and playing township .

4am start getting absolutely furious that I'm awake and get more awake through anger.

5am give in and get up in a strop and go get coffee and watch tv

6am have a shower then another coffee. Watch TV/ browse internet

7am start to feel exhausted and crawl back into bed. Fall asleep in seconds.

9am-11 am get up again, have another coffee and start work.

The rest of the time it's wake up around 8ish, have a coffee and a shower then start work .

bakewellbride · 22/07/2023 04:24

Wake up time varies but I have 2 under 5 so it's normally pretty brutal. Yesterday it was 5:30am

Morning cuddles

Open curtains/ night lights off etc

Dishes on draining board from last night away & washing machine on

Hot lemon water for me, essential for starting the day!

Breakfast with the kids

Mummy's coffee time on the sofa while kids play / watch tv

All back upstairs for making beds / brushing teeth, washing hands and faces

Getting dressed.

If dh home he'll watch the kids while I get dressed and quickly put some makeup on. If he's not here I can dress / do my makeup while the kids play. Youngest 15 months so not always easy though!

LittleBumblebee3 · 22/07/2023 05:50

Work Days:
4.40am - wake up, shower, dry my thick mop of hair 😅 make up on etc.
5.15am ish - DS (2.5) wakes up
5.30am - washing machine on, make DS and I breakfast, sit together and eat
6am - half an hour of playtime with DS as I don’t get much time with him when I get home.
6.30am - brush teeth, get dressed, make the beds, hang up the laundry, empty recycling etc
6.50am - prep & plate up DSs meals for the day. Family look after DS while I’m at work but won’t prep any meals for him so I have everything played and ready to go.
7.15am - family arrive to look after DS
7.30am - leave for work
I get home about 6pm just in time to do bath, books and bed for 7pm.

Days off:
Pretty similar bar all the meal prep etc. I wake when DS does and I shower etc while he plays then we usually head out to a group about 9ish. We prep and cook meals together too during the day.

Moredarkchocolateplease · 22/07/2023 06:16

Week day.
Alarm at 4.30, get dressed and either do a weights workout and quick yoga, or long yoga or 3mile powerwalk

6 get children up and do dishwasher, other house stuff and shower

6.55 drive DC to bus then onto work, arriving at 7.35

Weekend. Up at 5 normally to walk or exercise. Two dogs and I walk them separately so usually about 6 miles each day at the weekend, plus yoga or weights workout (in the garage where I have a gym mat).

Find it impossible to sleep in, though HRT making a massive difference.

WellPlaced · 22/07/2023 06:26

bossybloss · 21/07/2023 23:40

@kimten do you work on breakfast TV?

Either that or has a time machine.

cinnamonfrenchtoast · 22/07/2023 06:28

Alarm goes off at 7.30am. If I'm awake before then I just stay in bed and mess about on my phone or doze.

Then it typically goes like this:

Get up, make the bed, open the curtains, go down to let the dog out and go for a wee.

Sort the cats out - feed all three, sort their litter trays and top up all the water bowls. When the dog gets back in he gets breakfast too.

Run the vacuum round as the cats always get litter everywhere during the night.

Make breakfast - while the kettle is boiling I'll put dishes away from the night before and sweep kitchen floor.

Eat breakfast and share my toast crusts with the dog.

Wash dishes, give 2x cats their medication, brush teeth, wash face, get dressed and go.

I leave at 8.30am and work as a dog walker so the dog gets his walk at work with me.

allsogreen · 22/07/2023 07:32

Ginmonkeyagain · 22/07/2023 08:34

Office days

6.30am get up, shower, get dressed

7am make breakfast (usually tea, yoghurt and museli and a piece of ryvita) and eat while listening to the Today programme.

7.45am wash up, wipe down kitchen surfaces and floor, clean teeth, dry hair and put on make up.

8.15am walk to station and get the 8.28am train.

Bexx87 · 22/07/2023 08:34

Wake up at 6.30, check my phone.
6.45 I go downstairs, let dog out for a pee, make a cup of tea. The 3 younger kids will be up at 7 but I have to shout for my teenage son to get up, then he has a shower.
I make the kid's packed lunches and then their breakfasts.
Then I have a quick bath, get dressed, dry hair, do make up while they're eating.
Younger kids washed and dressed.
Then out the door for 8.35.

Ginmonkeyagain · 22/07/2023 08:35

I like to take my time in the morning! Mr Monkey by contrast just got up at 7.30am in order to leave for work at 8am.

Daveismyhero · 22/07/2023 08:41

Alarm goes off at 5.45, get up do skincare, get dressed and drag dog out of bed.
6.10 walk Dog
7.00 back from dog walk, feed dog, get other animals breakfasts ready
7.10 eat breakfast
7.30 wash up, hoover round, put washing out, tidy up etc
7 45 get dressed, curl hair
8.00 leave for work

UnravellingTheWorld · 22/07/2023 09:30

7 - husband leaves for work and wakes me up

7:01 - immediately fall asleep again (it's a real problem)

7:30 - regain some shred of consciousness. Scroll FB so the light wakes me up

8:00 - I'm now actually awake. Go to bathroom. Change toddler's nappy and get his breakfast

8:30 - sacred coffee time. Scrolling, and maybe some knitting. Toddler brings me a stacking cup and demands to know the colour. We play this game for a while

9:00 - cardio with mother. Toddler helps by clapping and moving around a bit

9:30 - teeth for me and the boy, and maybe he has a bath and gets dressed. We are finally ready to go out

It's not a great routine, but we are hopefully moving soon so things will get shaken up!

FridaRose · 23/07/2023 08:32

@UnravellingTheWorld how old is your toddler? Impressed you are able to do knitting and cardio whilst looking after him!

Natsku · 23/07/2023 08:39

Normal routine is get up 6:45, take meds, brush teeth, wake up DS if he's not awake already and get him dressed and teeth brushed, get him off to nursery (usually FIL picks him up, or OH drives him. Sometimes I take him on my bike)
Do a work out
Cold shower
Have a cup of tea

Holidays right now so instead it's sleep until ds wakes me at half 8, cuddle up and listen to him read for a while then get up

Soon school starts for me so I'll have to get up at 6 to fit in a workout before taking ds to nursery and going to school myself.

This morning routine is my goal!
I'm nearly there. I get up around the same time and run sometimes. I just need a routine and I may copy yours!

UnravellingTheWorld · 23/07/2023 08:52

He's just turned two. Yeah I'm really lucky to have such a compliant baby! He shows me toys when I'm knitting so we do chat a bit, and he loves helping with cardio! He tries to do the movements as well, and he's so funny 😂😂😂

EllaPaella · 23/07/2023 09:18

Weekdays when I do a long shift: 6.15am get up, showered, dressed, have a cuppa and leave for work.

Weekdays when on a day off or wfh or at uni: 7.30 get up, dressed etc. Wake the kids up, make packed lunches, walk youngest DC to school then head straight out with the dog.

Weekends - I wake up around 8am anyway no matter how late I went to bed. Youngest DC wakes up similar time so either DH or I make him breakfast and let him watch TV for a while and go back to bed with a cuppa and snooze/browse mumsnet whatever. Just about to get up now and go for a sea swim. That's my favourite part of a weekend morning.
