My mum asked me what was going on with DW. When I told her she said "I'm not surprised, there's something not right about him. He's another Jimmy Saville, that one."Shock

A lover of kompromat, by BT’s account. I mean, it’s power or sex driving the alleged behaviour, and someone working so enthusiastically for the Dirty Digger is going to know how to dig up dirty secrets.

Dan Wootton trending on Twitter...

The chair of the Commons’ Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee has written to the editor of The Sun so it can “set out what investigations are taking place” into its former employee Dan Wootton – after Byline Times revealed the presenter hid behind fake online identities to trick and bribe men into revealing compromising sexual material

CarlosAlcaraz · 26/07/2023 08:34

I don't understand all the ins and outs of these internal investigations , but shouldn't they be carried out by an independent agency ?

CarlosAlcaraz · 26/07/2023 08:41

Oh , I've just read that the Sun has brought in an external law firm to help with investigations .

vera99 · 26/07/2023 08:59

All these investigations buy time. The first threshold is do the police believe criminal activity has taken place and is there a case to answer. If they do he's a gonna in short order. If not and I imagine that would happen in the absence of documentary evidence, then we are into the world of he said she said and they may be minded to sweat it out. In any case given the gravity of multiple accusations he should be suspended pending further investigations.

Again we see the BBC giving endless airtime to Farage and his piddly-ass problems this morning. Wow betide anyone who does anything to a right-winger, we never hear the end of their victim hood (despite them being the elite, the establishment, the rich, and running most of the world's media) yet anything they do, (ie Wootton) is kept hush hushed and never reported on. Thank god for Byline Times and the Guardian is all I can say.

vera99 · 26/07/2023 11:05

Yes Coutts should have said we don't want scumbags such as you as customers actually. So do be a good chap and eff off. But no someone's head has had to roll and the Beeb goes yet again into full flagellation mode. Murdoch and his poisonous ilk have done great damage to Western democracy sadly.

DuncinToffee · 26/07/2023 18:36

Private Eye reports that News UK employees who believe they were victims of Dan Wootton have now been offered "24 hour counselling support" by the company.

They also confirm @BylineTimes' report on how Wootton was protected by the Sun while his victims were silenced with NDAs.

Lol

Absolutely classic. GB News presenter Dan Wootton argued the UK should leave the ECHR in a recent Mail column. But after allegations reported in Byline Times, his legal team is telling journalists he has a right to privacy under the terms of…the ECHR, Private Eye reports

I respectfully disagree. I don't believe it's appropriate for banks to withhold accounts on the basis that a customer has different political or other beliefs. It's a slippery slope.

And it was entirely unprofessional of the CEO to be feeding confidential(and inaccurate) customer information to the BBC so her resignation was warranted.

In principle, I agree but the huge damage that Farage has unleashed on the UK make him a special case in my eyes, doubly so as he and the rest of his compatriots at GBNews are strangely silent at the elephant in the room. Namely, the alleged behaviour as reported by multiple accusers of one Mr Dan Wooton who has spent a profitable career slinging mud and polluting the public discourse with his toxic output. At first glance sounds like the bank person over dinner and maybe after a drink or two confided information with the BBC reporter at the meal that he felt he could divulge. Besides which the time I find myself siding with Farage - even if it was just the time of day is the time I walk off a short plank over deep waters with hungry sharks underneath.

On a commercial point Farage's accounts wouldn't be worth the reputational damage and extra due diligence that would be required under modern banking regulations.

CarlosAlcaraz · 26/07/2023 20:22

@vera99 thank you, I've just read it, there's so much that can be proved, I believe it all to be true. I wonder if the men who were paid to meet the victims and film them without their consent could get into trouble?

Typical right-wing hypocrisy

CarlosAlcaraz · 26/07/2023 20:39

DW must have some serious dirt on important people.

CarlosAlcaraz · 26/07/2023 21:03

Well , he's not been suspended yet.

grass321 · 26/07/2023 21:06

I think the funding's a win for DW. I though he'd top out at £500 or some other paltry sum.

Maybe Martin Branning is helping Dan by donating with seeming a set of just a few maybe curated comments.... 😀

Keep up the good work Dan!!! You're obviously doing something right if they're coming after you! Sorry I couldn't send more but hope it helps

Jeanette
good luck Dan. Hope you can get all the support you need to take these monsters down. I'm on a pension, but I guess every cent helps. I look forward to your success, and continuing brilliant work on GB News.

Parmvir
Can't stand this left wing crap anymore. Funny how they want open borders but they'd gladly ship out a commonwealth brother. You're staying put with all our love mate.

Isabel
We love your show and we know you are a good man. Keep your chin up. These nasty Lefties love to see anybody not on THEIR side demonised. We wish you all the best.

grass321 · 26/07/2023 21:20

I'm sure that's the case. But unless it's entirely his own donations, he's raised a lot more than I expected.

Anxioys · 26/07/2023 21:32

Jesus what an unsavoury story. Well he had better sue them pdq because it's pretty ballsy to write that.
