Taylor Swift - Lead Booker

I bought 2 tickets for Taylor Swift in Edinburgh for the Friday night for my daughter and her friend. Paid on my card but tickets are in daughter's name. I bought them via AXS. I now hear it's named as a Lead Booker event and the person who paid for the tickets has to go. We definitely don't want to do that. I don't see anything on the email we were sent confirming purchase. Does anyone know anything about this?

Yep 15 year olds are fine at Wembley thank goodness !

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 21/07/2023 14:49

I've bought tickets for a friend and her dd for Wembley on axs using my 2 spare tickets on my midnights code. It was bought on my card because I didn't want to risk it rejecting the sale by using a different name & address on the payment details than on the axs account/ midnights album code details.

In the total mad scramble for tickets there was NO WAY to read through a load of t&cs. I will be fucking furious if she can't use the tickets!

I really don't think they will reinforce any lead booker rules. There will be far, far too many people who have bought tickets as a gift or on behalf of their kids or something similar.

Would love to know where this is in the terms and conditions on axs website as I have read right through them and I don’t see it anywhere. No mention of vip. There was no pop up when booking vip tickets to say were restricted. The terms and conditions don’t say anything about any differences or not being transferable.

Hi,
so, having been back through the AXS info, there is of course the info in VIP packages that says they are non-transferable. This is has been widely stated in various places. However, when you click on a VIP package to purchase, this is what you see, complete with the sentence about being able to transfer. I’m sure AXS will say this is only a general description of the mobile ID ticket and doesn’t apply to VIP but hard to accept that with a few minutes to purchase, you wouldn’t read these words and think it will be ok to transfer in the future!!

PS I should add, this is the the message you see when purchasing VIP tickets.

shazshaz · 21/07/2023 21:04

"It is no different to boarding a plane" - do they not realise how long it's been since I've boarded a plane! And considering what I paid for TS tickets it will be a few more years yet :))

Thankyou.

It does also have a load of different t&cs which should be tick boxed before purchase but how they expect people to read those before 5 minutes is up is beyond me. Attached is just one set of t&cs which states the lead booker must attend and according to AXS, the lead booker is the name on the AXS account not the person who paid (if different). I know they want to deter scalpers but surely there are easier ways than shafting gifters/parents etc

Where are these different Vip terms and conditions?? And my daughter did not know that the lead booker would be the axs holder. She has not used axs before but has booked many concerts on Ticketmaster and as longer as the card holder is present ( in TM’s case) then there is no issue. She is the card holder. She doesn’t need to fully get vip booking transferred as goodies will be received just the name on tickets if they are going to check them on the gate and be strict with if etc and names need to match and attendee. But I have also read that Wembley is automated scan your ticket entry. That the staff are there just to check bags etc after that. How are they going to have time to id everyone and check names on tickets match the attending people?
just so frustrated. It has taken far too much time up looking into this since Wednesday.
my daughter never set out to buy vip but once she got thru that’s all was available and her and friends had set a max budget just in case. As it was they went over that. A ridiculous amount of money for tickets but she deserves it after passing her degree with flying colours and getting her first job straight after. She doesn’t need punishing over this with a huge loss of money.

Itwasrare · 22/07/2023 09:15

@Chloebear28 you need to calm down 😉she is going to be fine, VIP or not. As you say it’s all automated. It honestly is going to be OK. They do sometimes check ID when the artist is very set on it (Ed Sheeran is one who is passionate about this and I was checked once; it was made very clear on booking), I have also been checked picking up VIP goodies but that won’t be happening here. She will be fine. It is not worth the fallout for them given the number VIP tix they sold at inflated prices. She will be fine. Don’t worry.

Thankyou

Ticketmaster is still DMing people saying credit card holder is lead booker and must attend

AXS is still saying publicly the account holder is lead booker and must attend .

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 22/07/2023 12:13

It's nearly a year away. I think they'll sort it out.

Just received the following from TM:

Thank you for getting in touch.

Transfer will be available for all tickets closer to the event. This means you will be able to transfer your tickets to whoever you choose and the lead booker will not need to be present.

The promoter, in this case AEG Presents, decides upon all policies for the event. AEG Presents has provided the following advice;

“The only way to obtain a valid ticket for Taylor Swift’s shows is via the approved ticket agents. In the UK, the approved ticket agents are: Ticketmaster, AXS or directly through the venue’s website.

Any tickets found to be purchased via re-sale on the non-official secondary market will not be valid for entry into the concerts and will be cancelled in accordance with the terms and conditions of sale.

Authorised resale for tickets begins on 1 August. Through official resale facilities, ticket resale prices are capped to help combat the inflation of ticket prices and put a stop to ticket touting. For information on official resale facilities go to HERE

These resale facilities enable fans to sell their tickets with confidence and empower fans to purchase resale tickets with the assurance that the ticket they are purchasing is genuine.

In addition to the official resale facilities, fans will also be able to transfer their tickets via their approved ticket agent, so they can share tickets with friends and family who are also attending the concert. Ticket transfer will be made available much closer to the date of the shows and fans will be notified by email when ticket transfer is available. Fans in the UK and Ireland will then be able transfer all of their tickets.

For more information, please refer to the terms and conditions of sale published on the website of your approved ticket agent.”

How do you know this?

People posting responses on twitter

Taylorscat · 22/07/2023 17:36

Lots of people seem to now have had the response posted by @NameChangeAgainChange
I’m a little confused but I’m guessing this means that if the account is in my DD’s name it’s going to be fine, we can just have a look to make sure my name isn’t anywhere on the tickets .
shame TM can’t just come out clearly and say they got it wrong but it looks like it’s ok now !

Did you check the dates? Are you sure weren't looking at old tweets?

Taylorscat · 22/07/2023 20:06

No they were from today but they’ve been superseded by the generic message pp just posted

Taylorscat · 22/07/2023 20:29

”lead booker does not need to be present”

We got there in the end !

NancyIris · 24/07/2023 10:03

I booked through TM. Taylor Swift Eras Tour no longer listed on their Lead Booker events page but I got an email today from TM saying it is a Lead Booker event.

The above page specifically says 'If your event is not listed on this page, the lead booker does not need to attend in person.'
TM customer service are saying they do. Does anyone know which is correct?

NameChangeAgainChange · 24/07/2023 10:47

When was your email sent? @NancyIris

NancyIris · 24/07/2023 10:48

@NameChangeAgainChange I sent my original query to TM last week when I first heard about this. They responded today.

NameChangeAgainChange · 24/07/2023 10:51

That’s very odd- I had emails from them during the time when it was listed as lead booker saying that it was but then got the clarification email above sent to me after they’d unlisted it. In your shoes I’d write back and quote my email above, say that you know this is what other people have been sent so why are they telling you different? The wording of my email has been posted by other people on Twitter many times so it’s obviously their new standard response.
