Swifties, out of interest, who's planning their outfits already?

I may already have bought a sparkly dress and mirror ball earrings, and be considering diy-ing the navy knee high sparkly boots. Or maybe rhinestoned cowboy boots 🤔 and a diy Karma jacket if I feel like it.

I've just ordered heart sunnies and beads for sunglasses too 💖 I'm having more fun than the girls I think 🤣 (we do have tickets, I'm not just planning for the fun of it - although costuming is fun anyway 😊).

Have any of you started planning your outfits/any diy's yet?

Oh, maybe I'm on my own in my over enthusiasm then 🤷‍♀️

My daughter. She is eyeing up custom made outfits. Note: she doesn't have the cash after buying a ticket!

Youngest has also picked an outfit from SHEIN - I won't order yet as she's 12 so will grow.

Apparently I am to be themed as well. I kind of wish it was HS and I could wear a feather boa.....

lucysmam · 14/07/2023 21:09

If I didn't enjoy the diy aspect I might be tempted to look for something custom but imagine the amounts being charged are daft.

Dd2 is 13 & has been eyeing things up too but she's lost a lot of weight recently so we're also waiting with her outfit but she's putting a mood board of sorts together.

It's not a boa but you could have a Karma jacket - they're similar? Kind of 🤔

DD2 has already been talking about it. She and DD1 have bought 3 sets of tickets ffs. Think they will pass a set on to DN2.

gogomoto · 14/07/2023 21:15

Sorry is that a thing? Last time I saw her I was in jeans and brought a fleece (Hyde park)

My main worry is parking, or rather extracting myself from the parking in Cardiff. Apparently people were stuck 4 hours later after Harry styles recently. Perhaps I can persuade a friend to lend me a boat if the tides are right, we live across the Bristol Channel!

lucysmam · 14/07/2023 21:16

Yikes @Canthave2manycats! That's impressive though - we managed to get kicked from the first two dates we could do because it kept showing us tickets a fair bit over what I set as my limit. I bet they cost a pretty penny!

I have this dress already which I think is quite lover era- obviously with sensible flat comfy shoes! As its so far away though probably change my mind tonnes of times.

lucysmam · 14/07/2023 21:20

@gogomoto yep! It's a thing! My normal gig attire is jeans, band t bought there, and trainers but I'm having so much fun planning this one.

My DD was looking at some flowery too (a copy of a Grammys one maybe?) and wants to team it with her folklore cardigan. I did suggest a big heavy cardigan in June / august might not be the best option.

For her standing tickets she's thinking her platform docs to give extra height with a reputation themed outfit.

christmastreefarm · 14/07/2023 21:26

This is choice from my 12yo

I have seen quite a few dupes of her floral dress that look nice (assuming it's this one?)

lucysmam · 14/07/2023 21:34

@christmastreefarm that's pretty! Dd1 looked at similar & has been thinking about dressing as "Speak Now" T.S. The Folklore cardi would maybe be a bit warm in June, I agree. I made one for dd1 & can't imagine her wearing that 🥵

@gogomoto I also meant to say, your nn has brought a smile to my face - it reminded me of a work colleague from years ago who was always singing James Blunt!

@Jigslaw where's that from? It's really pretty. I think that's the sort of thing dd2 will go for, judging by what she's come up with so far.

I've joked to the girls that I'm going to diy an outfit for each era then strip down as the evening goes on (i.e. wearing the last first, then put the others on top in order). The suggestion confused dd2 who wondered where I would change 🤣 . N.B. I am not actually carting that many outfits from South Yorks to Liverpool, as fun as it would be to make them all!

No-one else thinking squirrel costume then? 😐

christmastreefarm · 14/07/2023 21:37

@Jigslaw yes that's the one I think $1000 on Etsy I think she said. She was looking at similar tops for maybe $100. I still think that's alot to spend from an online shop that might not fit with (probably) no return policy....she's going a couple of times so needs two outfits - one for standing, one sitting. The youngest is only going once though.

Midnites · 14/07/2023 21:37

I am so excited to outfit plan. People will no doubt jump on and comment on it being a ridiculous thing to do but life is short, let people enjoy things. I am looking forward to having a chance to wear something sparkly or tassly and sing my heart out for three hours Grin

I've been stopping myself as it's too early, I've got tickets for Anfield in June 2024. But you've encouraged me to start early Grin

christmastreefarm · 14/07/2023 21:39

They are saying I can wear jeans and then apparently she wears a t shirt with something written on it - I think one was who is Taylor swift anyway (I think)

Gizlotsmum · 14/07/2023 21:39

Apparently we are all having a theme ( daughter has threatened power points) I may have found an acceptable outfit.. daughter apparently has full veto on all choices 🙈

christmastreefarm · 14/07/2023 21:41

I am actually quite looking forward to it. We have 2 nights hotel in Liverpool and hospitality with what look like really hood seats so it's going to make it quite an event. I imagine the atmosphere will be amazing. Although my oldest is implying we will be spending Friday night standing outside the stadium (we go Saturday)

McQueensMuse · 14/07/2023 21:46

I haven't got tickets yet, My friend is on the waitlist so I'm not giving up hope.
Even if we don't get tickets we are going to get dressed up and have 'A night in with Taylor' and play our faves and watch her concert and documentary.

I'm thinking evermore or folklore. Have pinned lots of ideas on pinterest.

christmastreefarm · 14/07/2023 21:47

@McQueensMuse my daughter said loads of people in the US are just going to venues and having parties outside.

I saw figures of 20k for somewhere but don't know how accurate that is.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/07/2023 21:48

No need to plan already decided!

Jigslaw · 14/07/2023 21:49

@lucysmam I got it from asos its by 'collective the label'- I searched ombre sequin dress at the time though and a few came up :)

@christmastreefarm if happy with it in a different base colour I have this from warehouse and its pretty good quality- they usually have discount codes:

There's a few by the brand Amy Lynn too that are around £100- still pricey but can do returns etc if not a fan when they arrive.

Floral Embellished Mini Dress | Warehouse

Adorned with floral embellishments, this mini dress is designed with ballooned sleeves and a backless detail.

midnights0 · 14/07/2023 21:55

Me! Although we are TTC so I'm trying not to buy anything till a month or two before the concert 😱

lucysmam · 14/07/2023 21:59

@Midnites go for it! I'm having so much fun looking around at alllll the things I could make 🤣

@Gizlotsmum there's no need for powerpoints here...I think dd2 would definitely be in charge of that if there were, though! Although then she'd get grumpy when we suggested deviance from her plan 🤔 then we'd laugh & she'd get more grumpy. It would not end well at all 🤣

@McQueensMuse we're waitlisted for Liverpool but don't need it now - it's a shame the not needed any more codes & waitlist places can't be released back into the ticket pool really, so more people have chance to get them. I can't see a way to do it though 🤷‍♀️

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit very organised! What will you wear?

@lucysmam any ideas what me and my (husband by then) can wear? I want kinda matching outfits for a song! At first I was thinking mastermind cos it reminds me of us (checkerboard outfits) but I also loved the karma shirts on guys karma is my boyfriend but I'd get (husband) on it or something but I can't think of any other outfits!
