Songs that make you cry

Made myself a playlist of my most meaningful songs - a sort of 'Desert island Discs' if you will. I was sat listening to it on the bus this morning and when 'Slipping Through My Fingers' by Abba came on, I just couldn't help but get emotional. My son is only six so definitely not flying the nest, but that song just gets me.
I would love to know what songs make others cry?

Monster by James Blunt and feel my love by Adele. I send to sing that (badly) to my baby.

Crazy by Patsy Cline. My sister's party piece, and god she could sing.

She died at 40, and today July 14th is her 10th anniversary. Floods here, and sympathy to all of you remembering.

Father and Son by Cat Stevens. It's the line "from the moment I could talk, I was ordered to listen".

Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me by George Michael & Elton John. Since his death, I cry a lot at his music.

Oh @Keykat im so sorry you lost your lovely sister. That’s made me well up.

mine are Still, Lionel Ritchie and Run, Snow Patrol.

I can’t listen to Dance with my Father because it makes me cry so hard.

Thank you everyone, and the same to all who are grieving or sad. We will have a "pilgrimage" to her place of rest later on, and we will (softly) play her song. It is an emotional day and I am sorry to be so indulgent. Thanks

Puff the Magic Dragon. My little boy is four now and ever since he was a baby I've teared up thinking about how little boys don't stay little forever.

Lost without you by freya riding.

Embarrassingly, all the songs from Encanto and Frozen. DD gets me to sing them with her all the time but I can't get to the end of any of them without crying. It's such a weird phenomenon I don't even have any strong emotions, it just happens out of nowhere.

I'm still waiting by Diana Ross.

BaaCode · 24/08/2023 07:46

Everybody hurts by R.E.M.
I watched an anti drink drive video with that song playing in the background, I was in bits, particularly at the end when a heavily pregnant sobbing woman was being consoled by the nurses because she had just been told that her husband had been killed by a drink driver.
Just thinking about it makes me well up.

There you'll be by Faith Hill

I recently lost a loved one and now this song has me in floods as I think of them.

In my dreams, I'll always see you soar above the sky
In my heart, there'll always be a place for you for all my life
I'll keep a part of you with me
And everywhere I am, there you'll be
