Fruit teas? Which are nice?

Im a huge tea drinker. And like it really sweet 2.5 sugars! I know i need to cut this out or at least down. Also for some reason if even a bit too much milk is in it. I feel sick and bloated.

So i looked in sainsburys today at alternatives but found too many choices. I like sweet as i said, also like lemon.
Doesn't have to be just sainsburys, im local to all supermarkets

Twinings are the best.

Their raspberry and lemon is lovely! Also like their glow tea which is strawberry and cucumber 🥰

Lemon and ginger is OK.

Otherwise I watching with interest.

Rooibus taken with no milk is quite nice!

Also, not sweet but green tea with jasmine.

Peppermint and Licquorice is lovely

Latenightreader · 12/07/2023 20:55

Twinings are definitely the best. I drink lots of lemon and ginger, but also enjoy cherry and cinnamon, cranberry and raspberry, and chamomile and spiced apple. I don’t like teas with liquorice so have to be a bit careful, but I enjoy the ones above.

I couldn't get on with fruit teas at all - they all tasted a bit artificial. My friend like peppermint tea (I think it smells like toothpaste) and I prefer to drink hot water with a couple of slices of lemon in when I'm not drinking tea.

Carpediem15 · 12/07/2023 21:05

Taylors of Harrogate - the Yorkshire Tea people.
I buy them online from Coffee Supplies Direct where they are a brilliant price.
My favourites are Lemon and Ginger and Apple and Cinnamon.
If I ever run out I buy Liquorice and Peppermint from Aldi (when they have them)

Allthingspeaches · 12/07/2023 21:14

Twinnings- Rooibos, strawberry and vanilla. Can take with milk if preferred.

Downandflirty · 12/07/2023 21:14

Twinings camomile and honey.
Any green tea apart from cheap supermarket brands.

notprincehamlet · 12/07/2023 21:14

I love the idea of fruit teas but most taste a bit like stewed grass cuttings. Good Earth hibiscus, rose & sweet berries, however, is really delicious. I stock up when it's on offer in Sainsbury's.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 12/07/2023 21:18

None of them. They promise the world with amazing aroma and colour and then taste like nothing.

Herbal ones can be OK. I like ones with nettle in. And peppermint.

But I prefer hot squash. There are some wintery ones sometimes that are designed to be hot, but any squash is nice hot ime.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 12/07/2023 21:20

There's a really lovely grape one, you drink it cold.

Oh, hang on. That's wine.

As you were.

AffIt · 12/07/2023 21:20

All fruit tea is disappointing and ultimately tastes of pondwater.

The only equivalent I've ever found that I liked is green tea with jasmine.

TwilightSkies · 12/07/2023 21:23

I love Twinings Strawberry and Raspberry. They also do a box of mixed fruit flavours, I can only seem to get it at the Co-Op beside my mums.
I think it’s an acquired taste. I drink 4-5 cups a day now and love it.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 12/07/2023 21:23

All of the pukka teas are heavenly, and the M&S apple and cinnamon. A lot of the others bulk up with hibiscus (I think it's hibiscus anyway) which makes them too acidic and they all end up tasting the same.

fufulina · 12/07/2023 21:24

I like pukka elderberry and echinacea

pictoosh · 12/07/2023 21:27

None of them. They smell lovely but taste like crap. All of them.

ForeverYellow · 12/07/2023 21:27

I always think fruit teas smell lovely and then I can’t taste a thing .
However redbush and vanilla ( tick tock or tetley ) is caffeine and sugar free but tastes lovely and sweet .

Haveallthesongsbeenwritten · 12/07/2023 21:28

Gosh i find twining tea awful. I like any flavour from taste the difference from sainsbury.

BCBird · 12/07/2023 21:29

Licquorice and blackcurrant.

Downandflirty · 12/07/2023 21:29

I ditched caffeine and decaf coffee and regular tea four years ago and have found it’s made a massive difference to my anxiety and my moods feel more regulated. I no longer have energy slumps.

ChristmasKraken · 12/07/2023 21:30

They all taste of disappointment.

Persipan · 12/07/2023 21:30

Ones with liquorice on tend to be very sweet.

Alternatively, consider having hot squash. Yes, you'll feel like a ten year old, but your drink will taste of something, which will probably not be the case with many fruit teas. Herbal teas (peppermint etc) have more taste but tend not to be particularly sweet.

lastminutewednesday · 12/07/2023 21:32

None. None of them are nice. Have some hot squash as needed instead.

lastminutewednesday · 12/07/2023 21:32

Haha @Persipan great minds!
