Fruit teas? Which are nice?

Im a huge tea drinker. And like it really sweet 2.5 sugars! I know i need to cut this out or at least down. Also for some reason if even a bit too much milk is in it. I feel sick and bloated.

So i looked in sainsburys today at alternatives but found too many choices. I like sweet as i said, also like lemon.
Doesn't have to be just sainsburys, im local to all supermarkets

Not many of them!

Try to buy the silky/3D bags rather than traditional flat teabags. They’re much better. Aldi’s are cheap and good, The only ones I like are lemon and ginger, peppermint, or chamomile and honey. Aldi also has a nice tea in regular tea bags - called Sleep, but it’s chamomile, apple and pomegranate.

The Twinings selection are the best I've found, the St. Clements one is lovely. I leave the tea bag in though, it's the only way to achieve flavour.

Oriental Chai and Licorice by Heath and Heather is sweet and delicious, failing that, Pukka do a three Licorice which is also good. They are the only ones with any flavour.

I like Twinnings Strawberry and Raspberry. I think fruit teas can be misleading, they smell fantastic and then their taste can be insipid. When I started drinking fruit tea I used to use 2 tea bags and leave them in. The great advantage of fruit teas is that they also taste OK cool, works for teachers!

The only fruit teas that actually taste of anything, and are lovely to drink, are loose ones. Forget tea bags. If you have a scoops shop near you, try the loose berry and hibiscus ones. They are glorious.

Bird and Blend do fruit teas that taste like fruit, rather than just smell good. V pricey but so delicious.

I love camomile and honey. I could drink it all day, and I'm normally a builders tea drinker.

Tessisme · 12/07/2023 21:49

Teapigs Rhubarb and Ginger is lovely.

Blueuggboots · 12/07/2023 21:49

Pukka vanilla chai is lovely, and their 3 mint is nice too.

There's a vanilla flavoured rooibos I like too.

I avoid fruit tea because it's really bad for your teeth. I like chamomile, peppermint and fennel. Dragonfly redbush chai is also lovely, as is their bai mudan white tea (this does have caffeine in it though as it is from the same plant as regular tea, but it is much lighter and more delicate. You don't add milk).

Thank you. Some great suggestions. Twinings seems to be popular. I shall report back once I've chosen

Like others, I like the idea of fruit/herb teas but find the reality invariably disappointing. Instead, I make my own, cycling through fresh lemon, fresh ginger and fresh mint,
by themselves or in combination.

Delicious.

Morning Time by Heath and Heather, Hollands and Barrett's sell it. My fruit/herbal tea of choice for 25 years and nothing else has come close

Hedjwitch · 12/07/2023 21:58

The Wee Tea Company are the only herbal teas I buy as they actually taste of something.

But its also very easy to make your own. Today I had mint and lemon balm. Last night chamomile. Grow them in the garden or in pots on windowsills.

NecklessMumster · 12/07/2023 21:59

Sainsburys taste the difference mint with lemon verbena. Some whittards ones are ok too

AuroraForever · 12/07/2023 21:59

Twinnings Rooibos and honey is my go to. Bird and Blend Strawberry Lemonade when I can afford it.

There's a really lovely grape one, you drink it cold.

Oh, hang on. That's wine.

As you were.
