I'm not a JV fan, but frankly I don't blame him. All sorts of people were being 'named' wrongly, on SM. That is unpleasant for them and their families. Do you remember,years ago, when a mob targetted a paediatrician because they didn't know the difference between a paedophile and a medical professional who cares for children? Well, it wouldn't be log before a mob or individual targetted someone wholly innocent . At least the speculation has stopped and we won't see that.

Jeremy Vine is a sanctimonious little turd but I understand his reaction.

After the story broke his was the first name I heard prompting him to make a public denial (as did Gary Lineker, Rylan Clark and Nicky Campbell)

It's bad for his family in particular when there is a false accusation

What? If you or your DH were being accused of terrible things you wouldn't want the real culprit to own up?

Illegal or not, HE behaviour towards at least one vulnerable young person has been abhorrent, at the same time as making a huge career (paid for by us) out of being a fine upstanding citizen.

He obviously has his demons and it's all very sad, but none of this is anyone else's fault.

Not a fan of JV but I'm with him on this - if my name was being bandied about in connection with a sleazy act, I'd want my name properly cleared.
Other presenters, just going about their business, shouldn't have to put out statements saying it isn't them!

I'm not a fan of Jeremy Vine and even less so Gary Lineker but it was awful how people were naming these two men mainly because they didn't agree with their views or disliked them. Those names were the two that kept cropping up most on here. There were also people who were saying later that it must be HE because he hadn't said anything.

I don't blame him for speaking out. Must be awful to be wrongfully accused of paying for illegal explicit pics of youngsters.
He said a couple of days ago that his wife had asked him to disguise himself when they went out because of the harassment !
