I am totally completely alone (for a week)

I am an introvert and this is my Christmas.

DH has gone camping.
DD is on a school trip abroad.

This is the first time I am totally completely alone in my house for over 14 years. In fact, the last time I was alone we lived in a different house.

I have to go to work (2 days in the office, 3 days wfh) and look after the veg garden but apart from that I have zero commitments. I can’t even go to the gym because I’m recovering from an op.

Omg this sounds like utter heaven to me. I would get a list of 2 or 3 movies I've been wanting to watch, get bath bombs or oils, a book and just have an incredibly slow and restful week. Agree with pp, don't tell anyone or they'll ruin your peace. Have an amazing week!

☺️ I am eschewing ALL social invitations. I am just looking forward to being able to pee without someone shouting at me through the door “muuuum where have you put my X/Y/Z?”. I swear the noise of the bathroom door closing is like an alarm bell to alert my family that they MUST speak to me NOW!

id take one afternoon to go and see the new mission impossible

but otherwise, a week of eating what you want, watching what you want, doing everything to your own time - bliss

Lovely isn't it? DH took the DS's away for 10 days a couple of months ago - bliss! I could sleep when I want, eat when I want, lollop around in the bath as long as I wanted

I dream of this one day, just to declutter the house! DH wfh in our bedroom, and we have 3 dc (8, 14, 16). I never have a minute to get anything done, other than keeping on top of the essentials. Enjoy every minute!

It’s heaven isn’t it!!!

My DH goes away with our children 2-3 times a year and I LOVE having the time to myself!

Next month they are going to Turkey for three weeks and I’m counting down the days!!!

A lot of people say, “don’t you feel bad about them going away without you?”

And I’m like…. HELL NO!!!! 😂

I will have the same for a week in September. I CANNOT wait 😁 I've booked three days off work so I'll only be working two off them (from home).

I'll still have the dog so we'll have lovely walks together but mostly I'll have long baths, watch awful TV and eat and drink indulgently😁Do let me know if you have anything more exciting planned, I'm definitely open to inspiration!

Omg dh never takes the kids anywhere without me 😂 I’ve taken them on plenty of trips away without him and always felt seething resentment at him having the house to himself for nights or a week on end!
then a few weeks ago, the stars aligned and dd2 was out and dh took ds out for some food and to the cinema and I had 5 whole hours to myself of an evening 😱
I laid on my bed for an hour, got bored and went to the gym/spa! 🤣 the house felt so weird!
Enjoy your week op, bliss! (I’d have to get out and about and do stuff eventually but sounds like heaven for a couple of evenings for sure)

Oooh lovely! I hope you eat lots of terrible food (I'd have crisp sandwiches for lunch and a takeaway for dinner) and just enjoy the bliss.

A clean pillowcase every day.
Small but exquisite meals.
Shower every morning and bath every night. No tv, no background music from other rooms. Peace.

DH and the teen DC are coming back on Wednesday after about 11 days away. I have been having a great time, I have sewed and decluttered and almost defeated the aggressive laundry pile. Plus I've had lunch out with friends a few times too.
