treacledan71 · 09/07/2023 10:30

Lol ohh no. Was your window open.

lucysmam · 09/07/2023 10:30

You do now...

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 09/07/2023 10:31

You do now. Keep it. It's not its owner cares about the cat is they let it out so it can get lost.

endofthelinefinally · 09/07/2023 10:31

Next door's cat makes it his mission to get into our house whenever he can. He has a much nicer, tidier house of his own, but he likes this one. We never feed him, we put him out again, but back he comes.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 09/07/2023 10:31

You do now!

Smile Awww, she/he sounds sweet. Do put a message on facebook though - if you are in a village or suburb or town group, and say this lovely cat is with you (and post a photo of it.) It's very ,likely it belongs to someone, and they are very distressed, and worried, and missing it terribly.

Ooops sorry, I missed the bit where you said you know who she belongs to. Sorry @PickledMuffin Blush

How funny that she's on your bed . Cheeky thing. Grin

ThreadExterminator · 09/07/2023 10:59

This is brilliant. Love the audacity of cats 😂

Discretionassured · 09/07/2023 11:01

Photo or it didn't happen, come on OP you should know we need a gratuitous cat pic now Smile

I was going to say in reply to your "I don't have a cat!" that you do now!

But if you say you know who owns her, then I guess you'll have to give her back then. If she keeps coming back to you to visit, maybe she is meant to be with you then.

PickledMuffin · 09/07/2023 11:21

Wish I'd got a photo! she's home now though as I am sure her family were probably wondering where she was. I'll get a photo next time she pops by!

That must have been a surprise! Cats are so funny 😻

MargaretThursday · 09/07/2023 11:42

We have a cat that visits our garden regularly. On two occasions recently, it's appeared downstairs when all our doors have been closed. I think it's found how to get in through our window. It always looks so smug when it appears.

TimPat · 09/07/2023 11:46

My cat is an absolute tramp who will make himself at home with any neighbour who'll put up with him. If it's friendly and clean it more than likely has a home but is just gallivanting. I was mortified the other day to be told by a neighbour that our boy often taps their window to be let in then curls up with their Labrador for a sleep!

evtheria · 09/07/2023 11:55

It hurts to read about people living my dream Envy

If I woke up with a cat snuggling me I'd probably cry with joy.

Rightsaidmabel · 09/07/2023 12:14

There was hilarious post on Facebook recently by a guy who said his neighbours were selling their house.
He went onto Zoopla for a nosey. There was a pic of a bedroom with a fluffy ginger cat strethed out on the bed, kipping.
"That's our bloody cat !"😂

Rightsaidmabel · 09/07/2023 12:15

Stretched even!

Whadda · 09/07/2023 12:28

I once came home to find a neighbour’s cat curled up asleep on my sofa.

I just accepted that it was now her sofa and I sat elsewhere.

paradoxicalfrog · 09/07/2023 13:13

"You do now. Keep it. It's not its owner cares about the cat is they let it out so it can get lost."

Aren't the majority of cats allowed outside? And many are opportunists, however well cared for they are.

We have a little female cat living a few doors away from us who likes to curl up and sleep in our garden. If a window is open, she will often jump into the room.

Our own cat once got into the next door neighbour's kitchen (the kitchen door was often left open) and ate a small block of Lurpak butter. He also got trapped in the neighbour's house when she went out and he set the burglar alarm off (for which I was the keyholder). Once the alarm was switched off, he had to be enticed out from under a double bed with a saucer of tuna.

Cats will enter other people's houses.

tedgran · 09/07/2023 14:29

I once had a ginger boy who liked going next door. He ate their cat's food , killed the rubber gloves in the kitchen and took great delight in pulling all the tissues out of the box and scattering them around! Worst thing he ever did was go into next doors bathroom when neighbour was in the bath, hop up onto the washbasin and have a pee!

LMNT · 09/07/2023 14:32

Our neighbours cat, who moved in 6 months ago, thinks his house and garden and our house and garden are all his. My 4 are suitably unimpressed but they’ve managed to rub along together.

I regularly find him in our house and he sleeps in the garden most of the day. He’s a cutie and we love him.
