I’m on 8702 and that includes going for a run this morning! The rest of the day has been pretty lazy and we’re not going anywhere else so that’s pretty much it for today!

9,168 we are on a weekend away and have done a walk around a lake which got rained off half way through and been swimming but also lots of sitting around and chatting.

Pollydollydoodle · 08/07/2023 18:43

Only 4580 but about to walk the dog .... in the rain! Will definitely get my 10k before I sit down for the night.

10,600 and that’s including my gym workout.

I was in London Last week for a day trip and by the end of it I’d done about 16000 steps. I didn’t go out of my way to go for walks etc it was just all the steps from walking to and from train stations.

It made me think wow I used that every day so I was probably getting upwards of 15,000 steps at least 5 days a week. No wonder I was so slim when I lived in London! Now I sometimes struggle to get 5,000!

It's something that occurred to me when we went up to London last time. I was wondering if Londoners overall tend to be fitter than the rest of the country simply because they would naturally walk far more than the average person.
My parents would think they're pretty active but to get anywhere they have to drive because they're rural, for example.

bonfirebash · 08/07/2023 18:45

Less than 1000, I've not left the house today
Did a 30 min spin class though

Yarnorama · 08/07/2023 18:45

1922 which isn't bad for sitting at my desk all day.

HouseofGods · 08/07/2023 18:48

13,734

Ran 8k and then took kids round the park (1 mile). Everything else is just general housework etc

Squirrel28 · 08/07/2023 18:54

My watch thinks 19807, but my watch doesn’t know that I spent 45 minutes on a horse. 😏

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 08/07/2023 18:56

About 100…

Been painting all day. Went to Greggs drive through for lunch.

I’ve not moved.

midsomermurderess · 08/07/2023 18:57
  1. I’m a bit disappointed given the walk I did earlier today.
midsomermurderess · 08/07/2023 18:58

11133 not 1! I didn’t just stand up and hop.

Pinksmyfavoritecolour · 08/07/2023 18:59

12,950.

Qilin · 08/07/2023 19:01

Not worn my watch but I'd imagine it's double figures only.

I have pneumonia and my antibiotics don't seem to be kicking in. Just moving from the sofa upstairs to the bathroom feels like far enough!

HappyToWait · 08/07/2023 19:02

13750 Not reached my goal yet though (14431 - set by my watch) so will have to do a few loops round the block.

petalpower · 08/07/2023 19:03

11,147 but the dog is angling for another walk so may end up being more. Am avoiding eye contact with him currently!

HaveYouHeardOfARoadAtlas · 08/07/2023 19:04

Only 4200 but also done a 25 mile bike ride.

RedToothBrush · 08/07/2023 19:04

3973 today. I generally do 12000+ but I've had a quiet one with a much needed nap.

PurpleButterflyWings · 08/07/2023 19:05

197,352 steps. And a 173 mile bike ride.

PurpleButterflyWings · 08/07/2023 19:05

And a 77 mile swim.

I think we do a lot of walking, but I don't think our air quality is that great, and the air on the older underground lines is filthy.

I suspect so! I switched from an office in the middle of nowhere (struggled to get a mile walk in a lunchtime) to one in a major city where I walk to work, have places to walk at lunchtime, even if I get the bus both ways I can hit 10k steps quite easily if I go for a walk at lunch, but often hit 15km by walking one, or both ways to work. And it’s definitely a bigger office and further
to the toilets and kitchen as I get more done during the day too.

vipersnest1 · 08/07/2023 19:32

3,500 roughly, which is no recognition of the gardening I've done today, which was back-breaking for me, so I did as much as I could perched on my little garden trolley.
I've also only registered 5 mins exercise, which is outrageous given the physical activity I've done!

NoWeaponsOnTheTable · 08/07/2023 19:35

@PurpleButterflyWings 😄😄😄

I did 21,212 which is more than I thought but also a rather pleasing number.

BakewellGin1 · 08/07/2023 19:44

Nowhere near enough. I've struggled through the day hungover and with an unwell young child...
Will do well tomorrow though as we are out and about at a big event nearby
