I’m on 8702 and that includes going for a run this morning! The rest of the day has been pretty lazy and we’re not going anywhere else so that’s pretty much it for today!

20285 - went for a walk this morning.

LadyWithLapdog · 08/07/2023 18:18

6,000 but I spent 2h watching a show and 2h in the pub, so not too bad.

BestIsWest · 08/07/2023 18:19

3,239. Pretty poor. It’s been a busy day so not sure why it’s so low. I’ve done a full shop in Tesco and pushed DMs wheelchair round the shopping park plus various other things. I certainly haven’t been sitting down all day. Not walked the dogs yet though.

BestIsWest · 08/07/2023 18:20

Ah…does a Fitbit not count when pushing a wheelchair because your arms aren’t moving?

6000 - been a lazy day lol

rookiemere · 08/07/2023 18:23

12286 - parkrun and dog walk, the annoying sod is angling for another one.

15866, still got a dog walk to go so expect to top 20k by the time I go to bed

samthebordercollie · 08/07/2023 18:25

28,467. I ran this 13km this morning so that's a big chunk and doesn't count, the rest is dog walking, gardening, mucking out animals

11,944. Fairly typical for a Saturday carting children to their various uninteresting clubs and back! Not driving means I tend to get some way over 10k steps per day without trying - current streak is upwards of 100 days.

My step count is always much higher during the week - on wfh days I run and on office days the walking bit of my commute covers a few miles, plus my office itself is pretty big. At the weekend it's still constrained by how far the 4yo can manage to walk without the whingeing driving me mad.

4562, but am not done for the day yet. Plus I went to the gym this morning....

LubaLuca · 08/07/2023 18:29
  1. I went to the gym this morning, but I rowed for 30 minutes and did weights. I've burned lots of calories without travelling any distance.

  1. Foot surgery in June and xurrently in a surgical boot. Getting increasingly frustrated.

11099 - went to the supermarket this morning and spent the afternoon at a museum (that was 15 mins walk from the tube).

Sunsetandsunrise · 08/07/2023 18:33

10,600 and that’s including my gym workout.

I was in London Last week for a day trip and by the end of it I’d done about 16000 steps. I didn’t go out of my way to go for walks etc it was just all the steps from walking to and from train stations.

It made me think wow I used that every day so I was probably getting upwards of 15,000 steps at least 5 days a week. No wonder I was so slim when I lived in London! Now I sometimes struggle to get 5,000!

What do you use to record them that counts when pushing a wheelchair? My watch never gets them

My child uses a Delichon Delta with a buggy style handle when we are off the beaten track, it is easy to push with one hand (for the most part, on really rough ground or up steep hills I need to push with both hands) so I can still wear a smart watch that will count the steps. If I am using both hands to push it tends to record it as a bike ride

IHeartGeneHunt · 08/07/2023 18:39

No idea. I had two hours walk though.

MsPrism · 08/07/2023 18:40

19,470 I have taken the dog for a two hour walk in the woods, taken DD to Primark on the bus, and had a walk around Battersea Power station. It's easy to get the steps in in London IMO, especially if you take public transport everywhere.

No, it doesn't record accurately if you are pushing using both hands, mine recognises it as a bike ride if I am pushing with both hands and walking fast enough

Today has been lazy. 1700. Actually that's more than I did last Sunday when I had 692 for the whole day.

However last Saturday I'd done over 10k by 11am, and did nearly 3x my normal weekly steps over the entire week due to something I was involved in, so I've had a lazy week, and need to get moving again.

TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening · 08/07/2023 18:43

Loads but I'm in London this week, at home I drive everywhere.
