I don't have twitter and haven't seen any theories as to who it is, I'm presuming a man due to the figure outline being used in the press:

Willmafrockfit · 08/07/2023 12:41

@Annonymiss123 that wasnt a clue!
it is pointless to speculate,

Willmafrockfit · 08/07/2023 12:40

i bet its fake, its in the sun, so it must be!

It's also on sky news and in lots of other news sources so I doubt it

Maxiii · 08/07/2023 12:43

The name of the presenter is on a foreign article on the internet.
Just search and scroll down results and the headline and article will be there.

Eggyhair · 08/07/2023 12:44

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar can you say where it says that the victim is male? I've read several articles and they are very careful to hide the gender. The DM article could be easily read as saying the victim is male, if you just glance over, as they say about the presenter asking for photos whilst he was at work, if you read carefully though, the only gender is the presenter's.

Oh no 😢 I know he's not popular on here, but I always liked him.

Willmafrockfit · 08/07/2023 12:44

am i reading it right that the bbc took them off air after the complaint was made on 19th May?

RachelNoire · 08/07/2023 12:44

You can find out easily on Twitter

I don't either. As for identifying someone from any old silhouette Confused, as if they'd use the actual person.

The BBC are disgusting for doing this. Literally putting every male presenter under suspicion. Either announce the name or don't say anything at all.

They haven't. It is quite right and proper to investigate allegations of this sort, whoever the employer is; and also quite right and proper to maintain confidentiality until they have concluded their work.

It was, according to reports, the parents of the teenager who decided to go to the Sun newspaper, which is, of course, the way that any concerned parent would flag up such allegations, rather than go to the police or anyone in an official capacity. I am sure they will be making no money or anything out of going to the worst of the gutter press to expose their concerens about their child's alleged exploitation. It's what any parent would do. True or not.

CurlewKate · 08/07/2023 12:47

The Right are wanting it to be GL because they hate how outspoken he is. Yuck m.

There are still stories on foreign media that come up when you Google ‘bbc star suspended’ from March this year that are about Gary Lineker being suspended for his stance on government policy about immigration. You don’t mean those stories do you?

I can see lots of different names on there.

No it is not those stories.
The article appears to be an asian news media but the internet is full of false stories so there is nothing for it but to wait for the UK tv news or the Sun to reveal the name.

broomers · 08/07/2023 10:49

Ah I see I looked and couldn't find a thread. Can we use initials and clues and it not get deleted?

You can't see it because it's been deleted. 🙄 Using whatever code you like, assuming it's good enough code they people know who you're on about, will still get it deleted. If there's a superinjunction out then Mumsnet can't be putting themselves in danger of being party to a breach of that.

Wiccan · 08/07/2023 12:51

Quveas · 08/07/2023 11:23

You think it's ok if you don't actually name a name, but just make it clear who you think it is? FFS.

No it isn't - two threads doing exactly that have rightly been deleted already. It is nasty in the extreme to be bandying around names or "hints" with no evidence. You will find out in due course and can put the boot in then.

I wonder how many MN speculators on every salacious news story they can find would like to the the victim of the bullying that they randomly dish out anonymously on these threads?

Why were you drawn to this thread ? .

Willmafrockfit · 08/07/2023 12:51

will the youth have to pay the money back if they release the name?

The Sun is hardly a reliable source of truth.

@WhisperingAutistic thank you, all the other articles were very ambiguous. Makes any of the 'names' vanishingly unlikely.

Willmafrockfit · 08/07/2023 12:55

but i understood that the person went off air after may 19th? or did i read wrong?

Willmafrockfit · 08/07/2023 12:55

actually i must be wrong because the youth's mother was annoyed to still see them on TV!
