I don't see why everyone so being so snide and 'of course you do" to @SmoothSeasDoNotMakeGoodSailors comment that they know who it is.
There will be a lot of people who know not just within the BBC but journalists in the tabloid media, likely spouses of any of those people, potentially friends of relatives of the complaint and/or their parents, lawyers for all the parties involved.
Mumsnet is a broad church and a lot of people post here. It would be more odd if no one here knew.
It doesn't matter whether they know anyway because the two basic points which are made are good ones
- posting speculation about the identity of a person shouldn't happen because it is defamatory of that person and unfair to them and family (whether parental or spouse/children) because these are such damaging allegations.
- no one here can confirm either way who it is.
Given there has been more than one name mentioned, it is obvious there are wrong people being identified here.
