Nope- I don't have a 'designated safe place, you just dumped it wherever. Hers my 'designated safe space' photo ( chucked over gate)- feel free to share yours - how ridiculous can you get?

Ugh mines in our bloody bin... coincided e with bin collection so never got it 😂

Westfacing · 07/07/2023 07:30

Yodel left M&S flowers for me in my block's bin room - a kindly neighbour brought them to my door. Thing is I was in at the time, intercom and phone are working, so why leave them in the bin room?

GroggyLegs · 07/07/2023 07:36

I can't find the photo, but I once came home to a large box with our doormat draped across the top - like a cloth on a table.

But in fairness, no body had stolen it, so maybe it wasn't a completely rubbish disguise.

WoofWoofBeachLife · 07/07/2023 07:51

We pay for a separate general waste bin for dog poo, out of all the bins to choose from, the postman left a package in the poo bin! It's got a shiny red lid he was maybe attracted to that 🤔
We also have a very visible storage box, and a safe porch. He knows all this gads.

underneaththeash · 07/07/2023 08:28

Our recent safe space experience wasn’t even at our house. They’d chucked it in next door’s bush.
their gardeners found it a couple of months later!

PuttingDownRoots · 07/07/2023 08:30

A few years ago, during a storm...

On the bbq.

Coronationstation · 07/07/2023 08:31

I had one left on a first floor balcony and it wasn’t even for me!! I still don’t know if they shinned up the supporting leg or threw it up but it was a fair size package!

I’ve had that too! It was a shoe box so perfect size to “hide” under a doormat 🤣

PuttingDownRoots · 07/07/2023 08:33

Also we had a driver for a while who couldn't work out the (honestly odd!) House numbering system on our road so would randomly chose a garage or garden to leave it in. Getting your parcel was a treasure hunt.

HettySunshine · 07/07/2023 08:34

What could possibly go wrong?!

Yep, yodel did that! At Christmas time, easily visible from the busy main road (we don’t have a front garden, just steps up from the pavement).

We’ve also had “in the bin”, and “literally lying in the middle of the busy main road, being run over” before now.

toomuchlaundry · 07/07/2023 08:37

Over the fence of a house half a mile away from mine! Took some tracking down, by which time I had received a replacement parcel. Another one was left at the end of our drive near the pavement in front of our car, so we couldn’t see it but anyone walking past the house could

Saschka · 07/07/2023 08:38

Oh and we also had “with a neighbour” when we lived in a block of flats. Which neighbour? No idea. Actually turned up in a hairdresser round the corner, about six months later. Thank you Yodel, great job.

musixa · 07/07/2023 08:39

Our big parcel was left out in the rain ... in front of the garage at a house two streets away. We got their small parcel rammed through our letter box so tightly that the cardboard collapsed, giving the embarrassing impression we'd opened it.

Giggorata · 07/07/2023 08:39

About two miles away, in a different village.

Inside a closed cold frame - with no note or anything.

Outside on the drive, within sight of the open back door, six feet away.

PopsicleHustler · 07/07/2023 08:40

Parcel delivery left ours once on the ground near the buzzers for all 8 flats outside on the street. Great idea, not!

Also, justeat left our mcdonalds once by the kerb because they couldn't figure out how to work the buzzer! They walked off and didn't tell us! We just looked on the app and saw delivered!

Grandana · 07/07/2023 08:41

Balanced on top of the security light outside our front door. I am 5 ft tall and it was way above my eyeline so I didn't even spot it until it had been there 2 days. It was a lightbulb. It did not survive the fall when I eventually found it and tried to get it down.

fussychica · 07/07/2023 08:47

On the doorstep in full view of the road, expensive bottle of wine from a friend. Box looked like it was wine. We were away, amazingly my neighbours who would always take it in never saw it.
Still there when we got home, good job I live in a lovely street or perhaps none of the locals drink 🍷.

Our Dyson fan, in a very large box, was left in front of our front door. Delivery guy rang and walked off. We weren't even in the country. I was frantically texting neighbours to see if one of them could grab it before it got nicked. So glad we have a Ring doorbell and we aware of the delivery just being dumped

Neverinamonthofsundays · 07/07/2023 08:54

I have a specific box with a lid hidden from streetview but clear to a delivery driver at the front porch. They always put whatever we order under the mat instead which is fairly visible from the road.

Jennalong · 07/07/2023 08:56

We once had a laptop left outside our door complete with the word of the make on the box . Was told it would be a signed for delivery . Thankfully still there when we got home.

Sunnydaysarentagiveneveninjuly · 07/07/2023 08:57

When we lived on a farm our huge gate had a Dog's Run Free sign on. Parcel man threw my parcel over the gate.. As I was looking out for the van I saw ddogs playing with a blue toy... My new blue jumper..
Also had 2 cars parked there but he didn't even knock...

EggInANest · 07/07/2023 09:01

Delivery driver threw a parcel for my brother over the neighbour’s high hedged / high fenced garden. The day after the neighbours left for a 3 week hol.
