Excuse for interview

Need to pop out of work (home based) for an hour or so tomorrow for an interview. What's a believable excuse I can tell my manager?? It's at 9.30am so can't do it over lunch!

If i was manging you I'd ask for proof of appt. Don't give them a reason where they can ask for evidence of your appt.

I'd be vaguely honest. You need to step out for an hour for a very personal appt that you'd rather not discuss at this time but when you have more information you'll let them know. And, will happily make the time up.

How do people prove a doctor's appointment? It's been a while since I've been to the GP but I couldn't have proved anything other than I suppose taking a photo outside with a newspaper

Emergency Dental appt as you have bad toothache.
Smear test
Taking your Mum/elderly to an appt.
Eye Test as been getting headaches

It's nicely vague. They can't ask for proof of this, it would be odd if they did! Just say you're happy to make the time up and will be as quick as you can. Sounds more genuine than a Drs appt imo

I had a manager like this once. I left within 6 months.

Car MOT is a good one. Depending on the nature of your role, could you claim a short wifi outage? If you know nobody will pick up the phone to call you etc?
