What can I put in my "British" picnic?

We have some overseas guests coming to visit us and I would like to take them to a local beauty spot and have a picnic.

I don't think they have been to the UK before on holiday and so I would like to make it a traditional British summer picnic. There are DC, but from what I remember, they eat anything.

What would you include? I have some ideas, but it is all looking a bit beige!

Pork pies. Egg and cress sandwiches. Strawberries and cream (if you can keep it cold).

Small bite size sausage rolls, quiche, sandwiches in triangles, small cakes.

Pickled onions!

You definitely need some beige, but you could include things like sliced cucumber and cherry tomatoes.

Lashings of ginger beer of course

Scones and cream/jam,
pork pies,
Fancy crustless sandwiches,

Scotch eggs

Potato salad made with mayonnaise and chives is quite British as well

Bottle of British wine or home made lemonade.

Yep to these. I'd also do elderflower cordial and battenberg cake slices.

Definitely mini Victoria's sponge cakes, so easy to make and absolutely delicious

Mr Kipling fondant fancies

Weak squash or as my DM did one very hot summer's day forgot to add water to the bottle.

Thermos flask filled with rank instant coffee

A kagoul for everyone, for the inevitable downpour.
