Now I've misplaced my laptop

You may remember me from a recent scintillating 'where is my duvet?' Thread , in which my spare bed duvet had disappeared without a trace. It eventually turned up shoved into a tall cupboard in a totally different room. Still a mystery as to why /who did that. Mind you given this latest escapade maybe I am finally losing my marbles and it was me

I've now misplaced my laptop. Put it somewhere safe just before a recent holiday and now can't find it. It's black, slim and can't be pinged from another device so it's effectively like looking for a black needle in a haystack

So far I've looked in
Storage bed
Under all beds
In all drawers
In all cupboards
In kitchen
In bathrooms
In hallway cupboards
Loft (!)
Under rugs
Behind sofa
In bags
Behind headboards
In the shed (!)
Bookshelves
With paperwork

Where is it? Any psychics out there? Help!

Underneath the duvet?
Inside the duvet cover?

Between the mattress and the bed base?
Behind any back cushions on the sofa?
Underneath any seat cushions on the sofa?
In the airing cupboard?
In any unused suitcases?
Under a footstool?
In the oven / warming drawer?

And no it's not there. Or in either oven.

I have a vague recollection of sliding it on somewhere horizontally so that it wouldn't get crushed or sat on (it was normally hanging out on a Kitchen sofa but I put it 'somewhere safe' as I was going away.

Mmmm. Now thinking I'd like a warming drawer.

2 ovens, 2 warming trays here. Definitely worth it!

Under the duvet on the spare bed?

Mine was lost today but I found it inside a black bag masquerading as part of the bag lining

In a closet with a white door, towards the left hand side around eye level or slightly higher hidden by a grey cardboard folder.

Anyway, good luck. I remember so clearly folding my favourite scarf to put away at the end of winter about seven years ago. I NEVER found it…

I only discovered I had a warming drawer thanks to a Mumsnet post, so it's important to acknowledge its existence loud and proud😂

And as for a stealth boast, get you with your kitchen sofa, as opposed to Yours Truly who only has the one in the sitting room!! 😳

Oh final thought - could you have put it where you normally keep your suitcase, and now you have put your suitcase back, on top of it?

Go and stand by the sofa where it usually lives and think about where you'd put it for safekeeping if you were stood holding it now. This technique often helps me.

On top of a kitchen cabinet?

I usually put mine under the sofa (the one in the lounge 😳) to prevent people from standing or sitting on it.

Stop looking for it. Things I've mislaid always turn up when I've forgotten about them and am looking for something else. (Cheating and pretending to look for something else while really still hoping to find the first lost thing doesn't work.)

Underneath the sofa? To keep it " safe" That's usually where mine is

@HonoriaLucastaDelagardie tried that too. We've been back 3 weeks and I hoped it would just make itself known. But it hasn't.

At this rate when /if I ever do find it I will have forgotten the password to get in to it 🙄

What's also driving me a bit dotty is that I have a vague recollection of sliding it in somewhere but can't bring any of the surrounding detail into focus. I've tried nit thinking about it in case it pops in from my subconscious but that's not working. Gah!

I've left my very slim laptop in my knitting basket more than once. I've also filed it in my in tray or my desk tidy tray (or more appropriately named desk untidy tray since everything gets shoved in there) and not been able to find it.

Do you know where the charger is for the laptop? That might point you to where you were with it last and jog your memory?

Could it be under a piece of furniture with a completely removable bottom drawer? Like sitting on the floor but the drawer is covering it?
