Now I've misplaced my laptop

You may remember me from a recent scintillating 'where is my duvet?' Thread , in which my spare bed duvet had disappeared without a trace. It eventually turned up shoved into a tall cupboard in a totally different room. Still a mystery as to why /who did that. Mind you given this latest escapade maybe I am finally losing my marbles and it was me Smile

I've now misplaced my laptop. Put it somewhere safe just before a recent holiday and now can't find it. It's black, slim and can't be pinged from another device so it's effectively like looking for a black needle in a haystack Hmm

So far I've looked in
Storage bed
Under all beds
In all drawers
In all cupboards
In kitchen
In bathrooms
In hallway cupboards
Loft (!)
Under rugs
Behind sofa
In bags
Behind headboards
In the shed (!)
Bookshelves
With paperwork

Where is it? Any psychics out there? Help!

Sliding it in you say, and checked bookshelves you say … all of them? The cookbook one too? Any other shelf? I use a bookshelf in the hall for shoes, often find things there that I’ve placed on top of shoes. A different shelf, like one in a walk in closet type place or the knick knack shelf in a posh loo (since you’re posh by own admission). Or in the cleaning cupboard (“I’ll remember that/it’ll be safe here because I’m the only one who does any bloody cleaning”)?

Yes checked all bookshelves, on and In between books.

Sewing cupboards checked. Shoe storage on the hall checked. Under all seat cushions/back cushions /rugs.

The charger is being used for my work laptop so that's no help.

Have just been an rechecked bags in the hall. Nowt.

FFS.

Do you have a drawer for towels or kitchen towels/ dishcloths? I once concealed a tablet there and didn't find it for months.

For anyone who cares and is over invested in yet another 'poached is a little bit mad and more than a touch disorganised' thread.

It was under the giant sofa in the lounge. In the furthest dark corner in the dark. Virtually impossible to see. Got a torch out and spotted the corner. It's seriously thin at the edge so really hard to spot.

Thank goodness.

Now to remember the password 😂😂😂😂

I do, but we kon Marie-d a few years back and everything in drawers is folded and visible.

Hard to believe that the inside of my drawers and cupboards are so organised but I lose stuff anyway 😮

I blame the menopause. 😬 and my kids because before I had them I had a photographic memory.

I never knew a warming drawer was posh! We have one, but only one oven. We do have a kitchen sofa too, a corner one.

Can't comment and can't possibly get involved / as a fellow occasional loser of items it's just too annoying. But please invest in some AirTags or similar and stick them to things it's really annoying to lose. Keys. Purse. Laptops. (When you find it). And try to just do one thing at once it will help 😂 Im now going to pretend I never saw this thread

A few days ago I lost my keys (they were in the kitchen). I rarely enter the kitchen in the early morning (early shift) but I now remember I was bringing milk into work. I had to leave my purse at home. It was in another bag and I was late. Now I have lost mu 60+ oyster card. Bummer!

I have an Air Tag on my keys but it only tells me that the keys are in the house, it can’t point me to the room. Is yours more specific?

@lightlypoached do you think that you deliberately put the laptop under the sofa and pushed it to the furthest corner? If not, how do you think it got there?

I definitely put it there for safekeeping whilst we were on hols.

It probably got pushed to the back by the hoover. Or one of the cats.
