I bloody love the stuff but it's £££

I've not got a coffee machine at home. There are thousands of recipes on line - most use American products.

I've just bought a little box of it from Asda from the fridge section which is lovely and will do 2 drinks over ice but I'm not in there often

Our iced coffee is coffee left to go cold, ice, and milk. But seems like you have something fancier in mind?

Xmasbaby11 · 25/06/2023 13:40

I just make a double espresso in my coffee machine, pour it over ice and milk. That’s how I like it but not sure if you want something fancier?

Workyticket · 25/06/2023 13:41

The recipes all mention cold brew which is made using grounds and cold water overnight

More than happy to learn normal coffee left to go cold works?!?!

Snap - currently on my second of the day!

Whatever you’re trying to do sounds really confusing. Literally it’s just coffee (espresso/from the cafetière/instant), left to room temp ish, add milk, add ice. If you like sugar, add sugar. Sometimes I add a scoop of ice cream and a squirt of chocolate syrup on top.

Douwe Egberts, hot water milk and a brown sugar!

I make espresso in the coffee machine then add to nutribullet with ice and milk

UnaOfStormhold · 25/06/2023 13:43

We have a milk frother wuth a little magnetic whisk that makes great frothy milk either hot or cold. I make an
espresso shot and pour onto ice then top with the cold frothed milk.

Mommasgotabrandnewbag · 25/06/2023 13:43

I make mine with instant coffee. Dissolve in cold water, add milk of choice a syrup if you fancy it (icecream syrup is all it is) pour over ice. If you wanna be really fancy squirty cream and coco powder?

PurplePear7 · 25/06/2023 13:43

Sorry also misread and thought you did have a coffee machine.

Pre coffee machine I used to make a cafetière, let go cold and keep in the fridge, add milk and ice as required.

icelollycraving · 25/06/2023 13:43

I make a double espresso (decaf in the evening), pour over lots of ice, milk and stir.

mindutopia · 25/06/2023 13:43

If you want a ‘cold brew’ coffee, yes, you make with cold water and leave overnight. Otherwise, you can make with normal brewed coffee, if you aren’t a hipster. 😂

Workyticket · 25/06/2023 13:44

I do have 1 of these...

Ice.

Chilled milk (Soya, Coconut or Cow's, doesn't really matter).

Camp Coffee.

Add CC into mostly empty milk carton, shake rapidly. Pour over ice, drizzle on some syrup. (Add Coole Swan liqueur on top if you're in the mood for that).

DifferentRoundHere · 25/06/2023 13:46

Make a black coffee however you normally would and wait for it to cool. Pour it over ice.
Add Oat milk, maple syrup and vanilla extract.

CatsSnore · 25/06/2023 13:47

I make a sort of iced coffee milkshake..

1.5 heaped spoonful of instant coffee (I like it) in a cup, boiling water but like a tiny bit of water in cup. In a blender add milk, icecubes, vanilla and almond essence, the coffee in the cup. Pulse it up a bit, pour over ice in a glass and add straw. Delicious but probably not the right way to make it.

WandaWomblesaurus · 25/06/2023 13:47

Just cold coffee and then I have it with oat milk (Califia, not that crappy Oatley wee wee water) and then add a scoop of protein powder and sometimes a banana.
Ice, blend.

imgoingtoscream · 25/06/2023 13:47

My favourite is a Greek frappe. Here's a picture of one I made earlier and below is a link to a video showing how to make it.

You don’t have to use Nescafé but it needs to be instant coffee. Personally I use decaf. The secret is mixing it until it’s very frothy. I put mine in my blender to mix it or you can just put it in a closed jar or similar and give it a good shake. I have mine with sugar and milk although, like an ordinary coffee, you can have it black with no sugar etc.

Lots of my colleagues drink iced coffee and they just make normal coffee in a cafetière, leave it to go cold and then pour over ice and add milk. What's left in the cafetière goes in the fridge.

LolasTheme641 · 25/06/2023 13:48

I make a glass of milk with ice in it, then make an 'espresso' with a spoon of coffee (and sugar if you have it) and an inch of boiling water. Then pour your 'espresso' into the milk and ice!

Doing it that way means the ice doesn't melt and it's instantly all cold together- I don't have the patience to let a coffee go cold before I drink it!

It's also v satisfying to each the coffee swirl into the cold milk 😍

Bikechic · 25/06/2023 13:51

I make a strong instant with sugar and as little water as you can manage to dissolve it. If you are organized, leave to cool and store in fridge. Then add lots of milk and ice when you are ready. If not organized, you'll need extra ice to cool it. DD always wizzes hers in a smoothie maker to make it frothy before pouring over ice.

MavisBeacon1234 · 25/06/2023 13:51

My go to is this

Get a jar with a lid and add
2 tea spoons of instant coffee
1 tea spoon of sugar
Any syrup you want
Enough cold water to dissolve
Shake

Pour in to a glass with ice

Add milk to the jar that had the coffee in (as much as you want) and shake again this picks up left over coffee in the jar.

Add to the glass with the coffee and stir. At this point you could always blend it if you want

MotherWol · 25/06/2023 13:53

If you have a cafetière, making cold brew is easy - coffee and cold water, leave to steep overnight, then in the morning plunge and serve. Cold brew tastes less muddy than hot coffee left to go cold.

If you don't have a coffee maker of any kind I'd consider a jug - something like this is under £20, easy to use and can go in the fridge.

If you don't fancy buying any kit and you're normally an instant coffee drinker, the Greek frappe @imgoingtoscream describes is the way to go. Delicious!

I make a fe a different ones as every in the house hold likes them.

I do the Greek one as above, though using a hand blender. This uses instant.

I do flavoured ones for the kids (not actually children). If I am using syrup I find the syrup blends better if you blend the syrup and coffee together but do it hot. So either a shot of me sores so. Or instant with a bit of hot water. Blend the hot coffee with the syrup. Put ice and milk in a glass, pour the the coffee and syrup mix in.

Or if you want it more like a Frappuccino, pour the coy coffee into the syrup. Then put the syrup/coffee, I ae and milk in a blender. Top it off with squirty cream.
