I thought she was great!

BlissedOutCat · 25/06/2023 12:37

Glorious! What an inspiration.

JenaWren · 25/06/2023 12:37

Love that! What a legend. True team spirit and the joy on her face. I wouldn't fancy hurdles without LOTS of practice.

SoupDragon · 25/06/2023 12:37

Love it!

Her legs were long enough that she just stepped over them!

SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth · 25/06/2023 12:38

I love the results board. She was given an SB 😁

Hoppinggreen · 25/06/2023 12:39

Excellent, she looked like she really enjoyed that

LlynTegid · 25/06/2023 12:41

Most people will never remember her achievements in shot put, but she will be able to dine out on her hurdles debut for years.

Sausagis · 25/06/2023 12:43

Shameless bump as I agree, this is brilliant Grin

mistermagpie · 25/06/2023 12:51

I loved it, it was so relatable in a weird way, to see an actual athlete be a bit rubbish at a sporting event but enjoying herself. She looked like she was having a laugh and didn't seem self conscious at all, I thought she was great.

I was surprised by some negative comments on a link I saw online, people saying it was an insult to the other competitors etc, which just seemed a bit sad but also indicative of the fact that sport - even running along jumping over stuff, which is faintly ridiculous whichever way you slice it, takes itself a bit too seriously at times.

TheHorneSection · 25/06/2023 13:06

This made me smile so much this morning - talk about taking one for the team! She definitely went into it with a brilliant attitude and didn’t seem to care what anyone thought, looked like she was having a whale of a time.

DeflatedAgain · 25/06/2023 13:07

What a legend! Love her

IOweMySanityToBasilParsley · 25/06/2023 13:14

What’s an SB?

notprincehamlet · 25/06/2023 13:46

She is just magnificent! She's raised the taking-one-for-the-team bar to a scarily high level!

RandomUsernameHere · 25/06/2023 13:46

Season's best

illiterato · 25/06/2023 13:55

I showed my kids this ahead of sports day as both are doing events they’re dreading as the house gets a point for someone just showing up so someone has to take a fall for the team if there are no entries for that race. Ds is doing… yes you guessed it…. Hurdles. One of the kids is the county champion so I don’t think he’s gonna win!

JellyBabiesToManual · 25/06/2023 13:59

Ha that's great. Good on her.

whataboutme77 · 25/06/2023 14:11

What’s an SB?

Is SB a season's best or personal best or something?
I'm not sporty so wouldn't have watched this ordinarily but thank you for sharing, I love her attitude!!

TheHorneSection · 25/06/2023 14:15

I feel like you can picture the meeting where they discussed what they should do, with all the sprinters worrying about hurting themselves, and she just went, “ah, fuck it, I’ll do it, I’ll just climb over the damn things.”
