Fair play to her, and, like pp, I love that they gave her a 'season's best' time.

Why didn't they have an actual hurdler to take part? Why did she have to do it?

I think that the team would be disqualified if no one ran the race, and injuries took out everyone else who could actually do it.

According to Wikipedia

"SB – season's best (the best mark achieved by an athlete on a personal level within a given season)"

I assume there are injuries in the team. I also wonder if you get a penalty points deduction if you withdraw a competitor . So presumably they thought that someone able to complete the race, albeit slowly, would be better than nothing. And she stepped up!

I'd guess it could be a PB, at least in competition!!
