Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I've just had breakfast - Marvin couldn't wait 🙄) and am about to drink my first cuppa of the day. The window and door are wide open & I can hear the wood pigeons cooing away. Little robin's bobbing about on the roof of the shed 😊

The girls are both sleeping & their dad's working overtime so it's nice and quiet, just how I like my weekend mornings to start.

I have the uniform washing in the machine already & may do a second load, of towels, when that's done. Other than that and pots (always washing & pots!) the house is pretty clean and tidy.

We're heading into town today rather than pottering here - I've been ok after every chemo so figure a steady mooch will be alright. And, if not, we'll get a taxi back.

Dd1 needs emergency prom shoes and jewellery for Prom on Thursday. Hers have shipped but not arrived so she's crossing everything they do arrive but needs back up 🤞 Dd2's asked for some cheap make-up to practise with, so we'll likely head to Primarni to see what they have - some of it's not bad & I might pick up a second of a 90p lippy dd1 bought me, as a spare. It lasts really well for the price, even through eating!

No idea what plans are for tonight, I will probably crochet & the girls vanish to their rooms after tea and showers. Tea will be something from the freezer that doesn't require much thought and effort with us being out.

Anyway, enough rambling from me 🤣 I could talk all day! What are you lot up to? 🙂

Morning Lucysmam! I’m just cooking pancakes for breakfast, then will take dd to swimming. We need to get a few presents in town afterwards then I’ll hopefully have the afternoon to play tennis. Not sure what’s for tea yet, it’s been a manic week so my usual meal planning went out of the window!

DP left for work early bells and will be back around 4! DMIL is taking DD (15months) for a sleepover 😃

I'm meeting my best friend of decades later for a coffee who I haven't spoken to for almost a year. Will be interesting. Quite nervous.

Me and DP will have a date night then an early night as I'm almost 34 weeks pregnant.

After being rudely awakened by my upstairs neighbour hoovering at 7am I’ve been lazing with a cup of tea in bed with the cat.

going to do an exercise class this morning then heading to town for lunch with the in-laws.

Were telling them im pregnant (first baby!) so should be a lovely surprise for them!

Good morning! It is very chirpy birds here in suburbia. I might go for a swim but the cat has come into bed with me so I might not get up.

Morning all. I’ve got to work (from home) for about 12 hours this weekend so I’ll make a start on that.

Last night’s washing up needs doing, not something I do very often but my hay fever was tragic yesterday.

I must go shopping (hate food shopping), I am on my last toilet roll 😂amongst other things.

I feel like the wheels are falling off a bit domestically, I’ve had a really busy spell at work for about six weeks and combined with the heat and hay fever I seem to have been in permanent cba mode at home.

Been out in the garden, repotted the rhubarb as I stupidly put two crowns in a one tub and potted on cucumbers plants which are growing so much every day its the first year I've done anything like this so very pleased with them

I've been up since early hours with the DC who are watching cartoons and DH is having a lie in.
I need to have a shower in a minute and get ready to take both DC to gymnastics and while they're there I'm heading into town to buy DD some birthday presents for next week.
Then we're spending the day sorting out our front garden as our street is a bit like living in an American suburb where everyone has perfect gardens whereas ours is a bit of a mess so it needs a sort!
Something easy for dinner and a chilled evening I think.

Sleeping (if I can). I live very near the Glastonbury festival site. It wasn’t the booming music that kept me up but bloody DDog1 pacing and crying (because of the noise). Ended up taking him downstairs so that DH could sleep.

Off to see a Mystic at 10
Then housework
Lunch
Sort out my Tesco delivery at 3 , then hopefully potter around the garden
Laundry will be fitted in some where as well lol

That sounds amazing @booksandcats22 . Have you got a book called ‘Gardening in Pyjamas’. It is fantastic, was recommended on here a while back.

It is aimed at ‘accidental’ gardeners, a really good read and very encouraging, written in plain English.

The house is still waking up in dribs and drabs. Ds was up with me first and has been suitably breakfasted- now he’s colouring in his magazine and organising Thomas tanks. (Very important work!)
dd2 is up now but no sign of dh or dd1.

ferrying around today- dd1 has gymnastics and dd2 a party later. Might do something tasty for tea, but feeling a bit skint today (went shopping yesterday and blew the budget a smidge!) so might just have a mooch around what’s in and get creative.

Off to work as per every Saturday BUT have confirmed my retirement date so Saturday working will soon be a thing of the past .

DH cooking steaks for dinner tonight and have a lovely bottle of red wine waiting.

Having a cup of tea in bed with dog on my feet. I’m getting up in a minute as I can see it’s a beautiful day. Cleaning the floors this morning and washing bedding. Then I’m meeting a friend and we’re going swimming at the beach. She’ll have to help me over the shingle as I’m waiting for a hip replacement (next month). Not sure what’s for tea, but probably something very easy and salad based.

Morning all! I'm up with DS while DH lies in. We had a few cocktails last night but thankfully I'm feeling fine! We've got a lazy morning planned and some nice bacon and sausages in the fridge ready for breakfast. I managed to get all the housework done yesterday afternoon so I'll do some laundry today and that's it.

Later we're going to head out strawberry picking and then this evening we'll watch Glastonbury on the TV with something tasty for dinner and a cold glass of white wine.

Good morning! Trying to get some household bits sorted this morning. Organising window screens. Global warming is really kicking in and the past few summers have been very hot inside the house.
I need to go and pick up a parcel from a distant post office and might even take a book with me and relax in a cafe for a bit.
The children are with their father and I’m on my own which I really need tbh.
If I was superwoman I would also be doing decluttering and housework today which are desperately needed but we’ll stick with pottering and enjoying the lovely weather!

Still in bed and the rest of the family is asleep too. It's been a very busy and stressful week so everyone's having a lie in.
The house is a mess so need to sort that out with everyone helping. Need to go to the hospital at lunchtime to see my dad who has been in hospital for over a week now, and will be there for some time.
In the afternoon planning to go to an open gardens event in our area which will be fun. Lots of big houses with lovely gardens.
In the evening hopefully having a chill perhaps play a board game with the kids. I've been invited out to the cinema with friends but I'm too tired.

Already done two loads of laundry, hung it out and fed the chickens.
Just about to wash and clean my car, then, after breakfast, go through my beehives and prepare them for taking the first of this year's honey harvest off, before it gets too hot and the bees get crotchety, as they don't like heat and humidity.
Then a couple of hours plastering the ceiling in the upstairs landing (an ongoing project which never seems to end!)

Finally, late this afternoon, off to the beach to do some beach fishing, for bass, staying on to fish over the high tide into darkness.

DD will be home from her dads within the hour and we’re off to a kids outdoor play area and have lunch there. Trying to get there as early as possible before it gets too hot! Late afternoon spent in the garden. Probably sausage buns and salad for tea.

I was awake at 5am so got up and took DDog to the outskirts of the village for for a shaded sniffy walk through the trees and across the meadows for an hour or so.
Came back and had breakfast now thinking about doing a bit of weeding and pootling in the garden.
Not a lot else planned!

Morning. Your day sounds nice. Thanks for the tip re primark make up. Other half at work. Teenager in bed. Housework and mowing lawns for me today. Wfh so normally can fit gardens in in week but was ill this week, had to go in office 2 days and generally busy wfh. Want to get it all done by 2 if I can and then chill. Have a good day x
