What things do you wish were socially acceptable?

I wish that you could ask random people to bring their dogs(And other animals) round for a playdate.(With me) I see so many new dogs and I wish people would bring them to my door so I could meet them.

Likewise with newborn babies.

I also wish that it was ok to ask everyone's name or to wear name badges. I'm fascinated by first names and I always want to ask baby and children's names and why the parents chose them.

What do you wish was socially acceptable?

Being able to say to people exactly how you feel. Especially in the work place.

Like

"Fuck off you are boring me"
"Shut up,you annoy the shit out of me"
"Why have you always got to be such an arrogant stubborn twat about everything"
"You are fucking incompetent "

I personally think it would make a better work environment if people could just say how they felt without issue. 🤣

You have no idea how much I would love to do this at my work!
My boss would get every one of those lines and then some x

I wish it was socially acceptable for me to stop random people on the street when I think they look nice (or smell nice) and tell them so. But as things stand they’d think I was a weirdo and probably feel a bit soiled.

Greenfree · 21/06/2023 20:35

Going out in PJ's and slippers

Farting. I have sat in agony in many a meeting for something that is a bit like a cough - just needs to get out!

Hahahaha hilarious🤣🤣🤣

Saying no to invites to stuff just because I don’t want to.

This is definitely mine. To be able to just say no thanks would be bliss for me.

Getthemofftheirhighhorses · 21/06/2023 20:42

To just casually tell people to fuck off

JamSandle · 21/06/2023 20:44

Adult nap time

YouAreNotBatman · 21/06/2023 20:46

Being single
Being asexual
Being celibate / never having sex
Being childfree
Being a woman who doesn’t follow beauty standards

All these, specially as a woman.

I do that - if I see someone wearing a nice dress, for example, or a pretty lipstick, I tell them they look nice. It brightens their day. I can do those things because I'm 65 and they probably think I'm a daft old biddy

Stillcountingbeans · 21/06/2023 21:15

Hoiking ones bra, pinging a strap, or reaching down ones top to adjust boobs, in a work meeting.

I think I need new bras.

I’d like to take my dog wherever I went. He wouldn’t be any trouble, he’s quite small and very cuddly.

Floribundaflummery · 21/06/2023 21:30

Singing while walking along. Also love giving lift idea and think of it whenever I pass a bus stop.

2bazookas · 21/06/2023 21:35

It's perfectly acceptable to offer to dogsit and babysit ; I 've always had lots of takers.

DontBePassiveAggresive · 21/06/2023 21:38

Not wearing a bra. Saggy boobs and nipples showing through should be totally acceptable

Beargrumps22 · 21/06/2023 21:49

Being able to tell people they are small minded predjudiced and boring.

Marchintospring · 21/06/2023 21:51

To be hairy as a woman.
Bane of my life.

Screwballs · 21/06/2023 21:52

Saying no as a full sentence.

MissingMoominMamma · 21/06/2023 21:53

I’d love to be able to shhhhh people who are extra loud.

And punch people who whistle. Not too hard, but with just enough force to wind them.

The second one was a joke (ish).

This! It's my dream.

The3rdWatermelon · 21/06/2023 21:54

When you don’t want to be somewhere any more, it should be socially acceptable to just leave, immediately, without finding an opening in a conversation to make your excuses. It should be fine just to get up and go home

ElizaWinter · 21/06/2023 21:54

Wearing flip flops and shorts in the office in the summer.

Taking exams outdoors so you can breathe!

Telling people you don't like their perfume. A woman at work who is so lovely has a stinking perfume that Ann Boleyn may well have worn back in the day and I just want to gently tell her how fucking awful it is.

Leaving work for the day when it becomes dull.

Wearing pyjamas in the daytime.

Carrying a water pistol at work - actually two, one filled with water and one with thin gravy.

I carried a water pistol at work last Friday!

kjv1234 · 21/06/2023 21:55

As a teacher, being able to tell some parents how annoying they really are... and some children actually!
