Why are you still awake?

Just that really. Why are you still awake at 12.58 on a Tuesday night/Wednesday morning?

I've got a works summer fun day tomorrow. Going cycling with the work crew followed by a meal, and apparently a dip in the sea after....so I'm sort of treating it like a day off. Don't have to be there till 11. So enjoying the nighttime peace downstairs. TV off everyone else upstairs asleep. Bliss 🙂

I arrived home from holidays a couple of hours ago but have to be at the airport again in the morning to travel to a funeral

Goldensoon · 21/06/2023 01:12

Oh. All the best with the funeral. Where did you go on holiday?

I’ve caught DD’s tummy bug and I’m up vomiting with the runs. Feel awful

I've always slept late but since losing my Dad in 2022 I just can't turn lights/phone off until absolutely tired.

That and I think that now I'm nearing 30 I need less sleep? Does anyone feel the same

I go to bed between 12-2 (large window!) And wake up around 7.20 on weekdays so I'm not sure that's a huge amount.

Plus cannot get to gym at the moment due to family medical issues so I don't think I'm tiring myself out

Anotherlateone · 21/06/2023 01:16

DC is at their dad's.
I've been looking through old photos from the last 5 years. Not knowing where the time has gone. My marriage crumbled under the pressures of covid and bad communication. I left the marriage as it got very bad. I don't know what to feel anymore. I do wonder how things might have worked out differently.

locomum83 · 21/06/2023 01:17

I'm waiting for the dog to come in coz he's out having a pee! Aside from that pondering my career (or lack there of) and waiting for my 2.5 year old to come barging in any second to get into bed with me!

Sorry to hear that sweet. Not much else I can say really say on your loss. Hugs. Yeah I can generally wing it on less sleep now than when I was younger.

I'm awake due to stress and worry. DH and I are not in agreement about a situation that has arisen with our DD. Her school thinks she should get an ASD assessment.
Jealous about a swim in the sea. I would love that.

I know a lot of people whos relationship didn't pass covid. Has he moved on yet?

Follow the school's advice, and get her assesed and take it from there sweet.

Because my wonderful dh (42) passed away a few days away of fucking cancer and I'm just numb, living in a non space. 😭

There are plenty of jobs out there at the moment for a change of career and scenery.

Wow. That's massive. Please surround yourself with your friends and family and get the support you need and take time out. Really sorry to hear of your loss.

I just woke up with night sweats again,

I thought HRT had stopped them but this last week they are back and I hate them.

justgettingthroughtheday · 21/06/2023 01:36

Unable to sleep due to hip and knee pain. Stressing about money and how I'm going to pay a £700 energy bill when I have next to no money coming in just now as I'm going through cancer. Also waiting to hear if a mass found in my tummy is a cyst or more cancer.

ghostbusters · 21/06/2023 01:37

I had a couple of glasses of wine last night. Went to bed with the kids about 9pm. Had a couple of hours sleep but I've been wide awake since midnight. Thank you perimenopause. Not.

Loubieloo4 I'm so sorry for you loss, sending hugs x

Ghostbusters I hear you about peri menopause! It can do one.

Feel like I spend more time awake on the middle of the night than in the day these days.

EnjoythemoneyJane · 21/06/2023 01:47

So sorry for everyone who’s awake with worry or pain or sadness 💐 - sending you all a virtual hug; these quiet hours between 2 and 5 are when things can feel at their bleakest, so hope it’s a comfort to know there are others here whiling away the time with you.

Dunno why I’m awake tbh - sometimes I just get beyond the point I should have gone to bed and then that’s that. Just pottering online and listening to a podcast and the sound of insomniac adult DS downstairs “quietly” making his 5th meal of the day.
