Just wanted to pick the mumsnet brain for suggestions of where to stay In Liverpool. It’s for a sort of work related event so not a romantic trip away but I’ve had a really really rubbish time recently so would love to stay somewhere nice . Not crazy expensive and not too far from Liverpool Lime St!! Don’t know Liverpool at all.. and any suggestions of what to see while I’m there . Will be there 4 days

The Premier Inn at Liverpool One is fab - have stayed there a few times. Shops etc across the road. Lime Street is 5-10 min walk one way, Albert Dock the same in the opposite direction.

evespudding · 19/06/2023 21:09

Radisson Red right next to the station.

getafringenotbotox · 19/06/2023 21:16

St James street hotel is nice with a nice roof terrace bar.

I had an amazing stay at the Titanic hotel. It's a bit out of town (5 mins in an Uber) but the room was fantastic.

PurpleChrayne · 19/06/2023 21:23

Not the Adelphi!

bossybloss · 19/06/2023 21:25

The Hilton is a lovely hotel, right by the river. You will find lots to do. The Albert Dock, Tate Gallery, Museum of Liverpool Life, National Museum. I love Liverpool! Xxx

Cookerhood · 19/06/2023 21:26

I came on to say not the Adelphi. OMG what a dump. Such a shame for what must have been a lovely hotel once. Dirty, shabby, urgh.

ScrummyDiva2 · 19/06/2023 21:31

The Pullman

MrsPatrickDempsey · 19/06/2023 21:32

The Crowne Plaza is lovely.

User135644 · 19/06/2023 21:33

There's a lovely new hotel at Lime Street station itself (Raddison Red which is the old North Western Hotel).

Hard Day's Night hotel is really nice, Novotel in Paddington Village or Malmaison by the Pier Head (all within a mile or so of Lime Street).

Annoying because it's a grand old building and great history there but the owners (Britannia) have run it into the ground and need to sell it on.

jelly79 · 19/06/2023 21:37

The titanic looks so lovely!
The crown plaza on the water front

DEFO NOT THE ADELPHI

jelly79 · 19/06/2023 21:38

The malmaison used to have some nice mid week offers on too

Iridescentsy · 19/06/2023 21:39

I really enjoyed the staybridge suites

I can’t tell you how much I hope they do sell it on, it should be absolutely spectacular but is instead a very unfortunate hotel.

I’m not sure about right by Lime St OP. I think one has opened up nearby, but it’s not really the hotel area. I think the nearby one is a new Raddisson.

I’ve stayed at the Jury’s Inn before on the docks and it was lovely. Also heard good things about the Premier Inn on the docks.

Leelalemon · 19/06/2023 21:42

Hope Street Hotel is fab, it’s in the Georgian Quarter too which is lovely. About a 15 minute walk from Lime Street station I think.

Hbh17 · 19/06/2023 21:50

Nowhere is very far from Lime St. I second the Hope Street Hotel - just hop in a taxi rather than walk up the hill.

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 19/06/2023 21:54

Can't go wrong with the Premier lnn Liverpool one. But there is another one right next to Lime Street too.

Titanic is a bit far and possibly the best hotel, it's a couple of miles away but a bit out the way from everything location wise.

lovelychops · 19/06/2023 21:57

Also came on to say not the Adelphi !!! Honestly I'd rather you stayed at mine than spent your money there 😉
The Hope Street Hotel is gorgeous but spendy though you could look for an offer ?
Have fun in the pool!

RedRosie · 19/06/2023 21:59

Staybridge Suites in the Docks. We stayed there for Eurovision and it was awesome. Epic breakfast as well. Lovely staff, nice rooms (with a kitchen).

runningonberocca · 19/06/2023 22:06

Oh wow! Lots of recommendations! The Titanic looks fab , but so does Hope St and malmaison and there’s a few I haven’t had a chance to look at yet.
Thanks so much!

Z Hotel on North John Street was OK. Staff good and room was clean, the breakfast was good too.

However, I found the Wi-Fi to be very hit or miss and ended up having to use my mobile data most of the time as it never worked properly.

it was my fault for not checking properly before I booked, but the breakfast is not included in your stay. You have to pay for breakfast every morning separately.

Hope St Hotel https://www.hopestreethotel.co.uk/. - great location up on Hope St with a cathedral at either end, bars, cafes, theatre, philharmonic hall - very civilised.
or their new place https://www.schoollanehotel.co.uk/en/ - currently 20% off

We often put put people up here The Resident https://www.residenthotels.com/liverpool/. They have a lounge (free wine at 6pm couldn't be more liverpool if you tried) but no dining room so you have to get your own breakfast - but there are great coffeeshops 2 mins away, and the rooms have a fridge/kitchenette

Titanic hotel is gorgeous scouse bling, but it is a taxi ride from Lime St and in the middle of the docks, its not a great walk into the city centre. Its near the new everton stadium currently being built and a few arty bits and pieces nearby.

Hope Street Hotel is gorgeous. And they have a spa as well which they offer discounted access to if you’re staying there.

It’s probably only about a 10 minute walk from Lime Street (in a straight line) but it is uphill so a taxi would get you there really quickly!
