I'm in the UK but mine is the blackbird. What's yours? Any Non-UK i'll gladly Google to hear!

Thanks 😊

The song thrush is best but the Australian magpie is a close second.

VaddaABeetch · 18/06/2023 21:29

Blackbird, listening to one now. Ro I in winter

wizzler · 18/06/2023 21:30

Robin

RosesAndHellebores · 18/06/2023 21:30

There's a bird in the evenings here that does a sort of chee, chee, sound. No idea what, but I like it. Also sometimes if I'm falling asleep on the sofa, I hear an owl.

Missedmytoe · 18/06/2023 21:31

Blackbird, song thrush and skylark are all winners for me. Also fond of the currawong as ot sounds like drunk clangers.

Unicorn34 · 18/06/2023 21:31

Blackbird, Robin and goldfinch generally but have shallows in our stable that chatter at me when I'm close to their nest that sound lovely 😍

VaddaABeetch · 18/06/2023 21:31

Robin in winter

If you download the Merlin app you'll be able to identify the bird. It's quite addictive and I'm starting to recognise the birds myself.

RosesAndHellebores · 18/06/2023 21:53

Thank you @Mygazpachoistoocold.

Newgolddream70 · 18/06/2023 21:56

I love hearing a blackbird's evening song but the Merlin app has introduced me to the song thrush and they are equally lovely to listen to.

Namastaymyassathome · 18/06/2023 21:57

OP you might like the Tui (New Zealand). They are great and have lots of different vocals. Also the fantail in NZ has a sound like chattering and giggling which is cute.

FridayNightDinners · 18/06/2023 21:57

Robins have a lovely song as well as being so jolly and friendly.

BadgeronaMoped · 18/06/2023 21:59

Mistle thrush. Absolutely beautiful.

Floribundaflummery · 18/06/2023 22:00

Loved the bell bird in NZ. Skylark in UK but also love the songthrush.

Oblahbla · 18/06/2023 22:02

Locally, robin, blackbird, skylark, eider duck because it makes me smile. In Australia, the currawong and the bellbird.

Once went for a walk with DDad and we walked down an avenue of trees with bellbirds chinking in the undergrowth, it was like being in an outdoor church.

Agree with PPS, the Merlin app is a joy.

EdithStourton · 18/06/2023 22:04

I don't think I have a favourite, just lots I love. I can manage a top three:
Skylark
Turtle dove
Tawny owl
