I miss the dark nights!

Currently chilling in bed doing the usual Sunday wind down, blackout blinds are down and lamp is on. TV on low watching an old documentary about Princess Diana. But it's broad daylight! Feels so wrong. I do like the Spring, dislike the summer... but absolutely love the autumn!

Roll on October. Crunchy leaves, hot drinks and big bright stars in the dark sky.

I hate November and December- so little light. I start to feel better mid February when it's light until 6pm. Love the light!

I’m with you OP, I am counting down the days until September! I hate the summer heat with a passion. My favourite season is autumn, I love it when you can feel the season change, from summer to autumn… I look forward to that every year 😄 The summer months just drag for me, whilst September to March seems to fly by 😫 I love the dark, cosy nights, bring it on!

Funny I was just saying this to DH. I like hot weather but I hate the long days. I wish the sun would set as a reasonable time like 6 or 7. It’s still light at 10pm!

I hate the heat but LOVE the long hours of daylight, its so nice being able to do gardening and go for lovely walks in the evening instead of being stuck in the house, no blackout blinds for me, I love waking up in broad daylight too.

This is me too - not a heat lover but enjoy the long days. Often I enjoy sitting out at night as it's a much nicer temperature.

Am in Scotland, so does stay light quite late.

Yes, I prefer to stay inside in the cool in the middle part of the day when its hot weather but love being able to sit out on the patio from say 6-10 at night.

I'm into astronomy, I both rue and lament the lack of darkness in the summer. The weather is clearer than in the long winter nights though...

Hell no - I love being able to take the dog for long walks in the evening, or do the garden till late at night. Living under an electric light, being cooped up indoors for months on end is miserable.

I loathe summer. Too hot.

Autumn, winter and spring are amazing.

Think I have to move to more northern climes.

Where I live we don't get those mystical crunchy leaf autumn's just soggy leaves and endless rain. I far prefer these lovely long evenings outside than being trapped inside with wind and rain hammering on the windows.

Well it's the summer solstice now so from now on the nights slowly start drawing in. Unfortunately I think the heat is here for some time to come. 😔

I like the warm sunny days but there should be a cut off for the sun! Like a cosmic light switch.

How to best cope with heatwaves? Tips anyone? Better safe than sorry

Mixed feellings! I don't like light evenings until 10pm, equally I don't like the dark at 4pm! Ideally this is what I'd like all year around 7.30-8pm.

Winter will be here soon enough and then you'll all be complaining about the heating bills and the cold and the rain and the dark.

Well it’s ok so far this year. Mainly because the weekend was boiling. I’ve booked a nice holiday for half term to cheer myself up ready for the clocks going back.
I see Christmas and Halloween in the shops which luckily people can ignore whilst its nice and warm and or sunny.
I know I’ll be utterly fed up by November though.
