What did you hate as a child, but love as an adult

For me it's mushrooms and also showers.

Mushrooms were the disgusting things that weren't nice in any way! Now I love them, eat the raw, fried, grilled, in soup etc 😋

I absolutely loathed showers, even to the point where I'd sit in the showe tray and try and have a really shallow bath! Love them now. Absolutely hate baths now and only have them when no alternative is available.

Not sure when I moved from a hate to a love...but there we go!

Sport! I'm not naturally sporty and was never encouraged to try, just spent my whole childhood thinking I just wasn't that kind of person. Hates PE with a passion, and grew into a chubby teenager. Now I love it! I still can't catch a ball but have learnt to run, and at uni I discovered my love of dancy/boxingy exercise classes. I wish I'd been encouraged to try, and not just told I wasn't sporty so never mind.

Leapintothelightning · 17/06/2023 17:15

Mushrooms, potatoes and cheese!

Running
Mainly because there is a big difference between being forced to race against people who are so much faster than you it’s humiliating and just going for a lovely run somewhere beautiful at your own pace.

Sleep. Apparently I was a legendarily bad sleeper until I started school.

Karma is now having a laugh by torturing me with a preschooler and toddler who also detest sleep.
